100% recommended! We stumbled upon this place whilst up from London visiting a nearby holiday park. We fancied an Indian meal and chose this place from a choice of several in the immediate vicinity. Following lockdown, the restaurant has been fully refurbished inside and it looks delightful! When speaking with the manager, it was interesting to learn his family decorated the ceiling and some of the finishing touches were handcrafted by the boss himself! Staff were very friendly, attentive, and good conversationists! They seemed to enjoy and feel proud working there. Onto the menu and food...well, what can I say! The choice was huge and there were several dishes I have never seen or heard of before. I choose a podina which has fresh mint, coriander and lemon juice as part of the ingredient line up, and delicious it was, with all of the ingredients being tasted individually too I.e. exactly as described! It was great choosing something different, and the majority of dishes could be made with a choice of meat, seafood or vegetables. Ordered food online via their website but there wasn't an allergy section to inform of Gluten free needs so we rang to confirm and the conversation we had was unreal! A poor young lad who was clearly struggling couldn't get the correct gluten free information from the kitchen staff. At first all contained gluten then the young lad on phone was expected to relay what was and what wasn't gluten free which was way beyond his capabilities, not his fault at all, the shouting from the background was ridiculous and unorganised! Visited Whitley Tandoori this evening for the first time. Having a handful of descent Indian restaurants in our area we like to venture out and give others a chance. Whitley Tandoori was definitely worth the travel and will definitely be back. Myself and partner both picked from the chef's recommendations and both very happy with the taste and quality of our dishes.
