Popular coffee shop on the riverside in Derry. It's very small, very busy, makes good coffee and light meals. Along with a packed coffee shop of customers, it appears to have a steady number of take out customers, not just for coffee but food too.
The menu is pretty limited. I ordered the soup, was wholesome and hot the spot on a wet summer day. The Classic and Kimcheese toasties were tasty (a little too much cheese for me but I wasn't eating them, my kids were and they didn't leave a morsel on their plates 😉).
Their pastries looked so good but we were in a rush so couldn't stay to experience any. Next time!!
My only negatives are the limited seating and a lack of customer parking... Don't get me wrong, there a public parking lot beside the coffee shop but payment can only be made by downloading an app to my cellphone. Given I have an overseas phone, I was restricted from downloading the app, which meant I had to leave and park on the very limited street.
Would this stop me from revisiting Offing again? Nope! It's worth the...
Read moreHave visited this place a few times now. Positives: The coffee is good.
Sadly the service is very slow & the staff hardly crack a smile. Zero customer service. A hello & a smile costs nothing.
On my last visit I stood for over 5 mins before a staff member acknowledged me. I was then told that I could not order a coffee as they stopped serving coffee at 3:30pm. Yet the premises was still open & correct me if I'm wrong but it is a coffee shop right?
There can be zero excuses for not being able to serve coffee ( I wanted a take away one ) until closing time.
Also zero excuses can be made for the lack of friendliness from the staff. A smile & a hello costs nothing to the customer but the girl I got the last day hardly even wanted to address me.
Sadly I wouldn't return. I've given this place a few shots but I'll happily pop into the city where there are places happy to serve you & can at least say hello.
Sadly this place really could be good if service & staff were a...
Read moreFood is very tasty but can be pricey. Overnight oats are delicious and good quality for your money. Pastries are over priced and the Turkish eggs are delicious but I needed to order something else to fill me up. Nice staff but you will wait quite some time for a takeout coffee as they are so busy all of the time and staff are easy going. Dog friendly and lovely views of the Foyle but the place to too small and cramped so it is hard to manoeuvre around. Take away service is a challenge on most days. Although all grounds are flat, the place is so busy and tightly squeezed you would not be able to access a wheelchair through there. It's a pity because it's a great spot if it was bigger as its central location for walks, bike rides and family time just not accomadating for more than groups of three, families or...
