Was back in the other night for a birthday. No menus on our tables the was asked what will you like to eat then we had to let them know that we had no menus on our tables. we waited a good time between starters 35 minutes until we got a main course a Party member was only getting the main course so had to wait maybe a hour before getting They food and was so hungry. Then we saw a table getting cleaned but a man sitting down on the table after it was clean ( staff saw it)waiting for someone to come out of the bathroom he got up and they didn't clean the table again they just let another party seat down on it ? Then we ask for the bill .was handed the bill and was asked nicely for the table in five minutes but we noticed another couple sitting in a table that was there before us Finish off her cocktail on her phone ( could off be move to the bar) staff member was chatting to her in a friendly way that you know they knew each other was that the secret to keeping A big table for yourself and your partner? We had to kept getting people attention no asked us for another around off drinks but both tablets beside us was asked.and our drink menu was taking away and never came back .but we seem to be the only party that was asked to leave if they weren't so long service us?between meals. we would off been out on time for them but made it look like our fault the chip was very salty ( I didn't add anything on too them ) and tobacco onion how much salt was used 🤔we couldn't eat them . Definitely has to be a different chef from the last time i was in. It was the dessert that the kids got the extra point they was so happy but made leaving it behind because they needed the table sad children the way home. I was so looking forward to returning here but feel invisible my money is good also we I hope it is. Will go if intive to a party but don't think I book myself to go after the...
Read moreWhen I got to the restaurant there was a huge queue at the door , it took nearly 10minutes waiting before a waitress came near us to ask if we were booked in and when we confirmed that we were it took another 5/10 minutes before they came back to us. (The waitress that originally got our name asked 4 other familys if they were us before she came back to us (bear in mind i had 3 small children with me) We got seated and ordered our food. We ordered 2 soups to start and initially the soup looked and tasted lovely so i give my daughter half of my bowl as she wanted some and to my suprise she started to question what was in the soup initially i thought it was parts of veg that hadn't been fully blended but on closer inspection it turned out to be CLINGFILM within the soup if my child had of eating that it could have made her extremely sick and more than likely i had already cusumed smaller particles of clingfilm. this was brought to the waitresses attention as they collected our plates where she had apologised but this contamination should not have been present in the soup. We then had to wait a further 20minutes on our main. The main course that i ordered was a 50/50 that I eat in most other restaurants was horribly overcooked and poisoned with garlic, completely uneatable. Staff were very slow too and had too keep asking for drinks that had already been ordered. I then went to pay and my bill seemed extremely high for all that I had gotten. They had added another tables bill to mine which again should not have happened. Normally I would just pay and go but I knew it wasn't right. They did solve the bill issue and agreed to remove the price of the soup but god knows how many other servings of this soup was sent out prior to us . Overall I am extremely unhappy with my...
Read moreBeen to the Old Docks a good few times. Good food and service. That was, until last night. Oit for a friends birthday party. Had just finished our main and the time was 7:59. The man who seemed the be running the floor, approached our table and asked if we knew there was a private function booked for 8 and the restaurant was closing for it. We said no, nobody made us aware tonight or when booking it. His exact words was "last bookings were to be for 6pm (ours was 6:30) and that had we been speaking to him when making the booking, he wouldn't have taken it".
Ok very good. But we didn't speak to you, and the booking was taken.
He then said we could have desert if we were quick. Loosely translated, happy to take more money provided you eat it quick and get out.
In the way out we spoke to him, he advised us he took a round of drinks off the bill! NOPE! The bill was infact paid in full to what we ordered so that was a lie. He then offered a voucher as way of apology (I'll just add, no apology was actually given at anytime just excuses). The situation was that terrible that the voucher was refused by the organiser of the night. That's how awful the night ended.
Customer service training (just for this man) because the rest of the staff were brilliant, may be in order. Had he approached our table and apologised and said there was a mix up and we are sorry, then fine. But to throw it back at the customer that it's their fault they made the booking, shocking, and then to lie about the bill even worse, and to be more or less told, finish up quickly and get out.
Safe to say, done...
