The Regent Tearoom — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

I pre ordered 2 sandwich trays - one normal and one just vegetarian over the phone over a week in advance. The cafe decided that a different approach would be better without calling me. So when I arrived to collect the sandwiches there was just one tray of mixed meat and veggie sandwiches. The ladies working on the day blamed me and each other for the mistake in taking my order, no one contacted me to say I would get something different to what I ordered and I was too short for time to wait for another tray. I completely understand that sometimes orders get mixed up or that these ladies have more experience in this area than me, but there was no need to blame me or each other for this mistake. There was no apology and no acknowledgment of the mistake. And the sandwiches were nice and well presented on the tray. A bit more customer service and accountability would have meant I wouldn’t leave this review. Please check and double check with the tea rooms if you order...

I had been looking for somewhere new to try and this delightful place popped ip on my Instagram feed. I was thinking about afternoon tea but settled for breakfast instead. Happily drove to Newtownards to sample the food and it didn't disappoint. I had the avacado breakfast and my sister had the healthy breakfast. Both beautiful presented, piping hot and delicious. First time eating here and very pleased. Lovely room in a beautiful building, the quality of food we had was excellent. The scones are made in house and my wife loved hers as it wasn’t doughy and the flavour was outstanding. My French toast and (Andy Orrs) bacon was delicious with plenty of maple syrup (no need to ask for more like many other establishments). Coffees were great too so basically, nothing to moan about and only praise. I really hope the Tearoom gets the custom...
