I ordered for a delivery through Deliveroo app. Being an Indian, this is the worst food that I have had.
Chicken Biriyani-- Nowhere close to what biriyani is meant to be. It was more like multicolored rice with lots of oil and some overcooked rubbery chicken. The spices were aplenty but unnecessary, giving it a sickening taste.
Chicken Tikka-- the only resemblance was the color of chicken tikka. The meat texture was like processed meat and definitely not fresh.
Disgusted with the overall experience. Definitely DO NOT recommend. It is a strict no no.
Ali Tandoori responded to my review saying-- This is not accurate information. Please do not leave a negative response to get a meal for free.
My reply to Ali Tandoori-- @AliTandoori if you have seen my multiple Google reviews and responses to feedback on places and restaurants I hope you understand that this feedback is not meant to demean you but rather give more insight to customers on how the quality of your food is. I have also seen a few other reviews stating that you behave rudely with customers and your response proves the same. When you claim that I am posting this for a free meal, I am more than happy to say that your meals do not deserve to be paid and purchased and the same goes for free meals, as I do not want to go through the pain of having such food again. So even if you offer me a free meal I would love to decline and not accept your offer. Since you claim that my review is not appropriate I would love to list down some more details.
Ratings for some parameters for delivered food- Quality- 1/5 Taste- 1/5
I hope the other customers agree with me. And those who are not yet your customers do not make the same mistake like me to order food from your restaurant.
NOT ONLY YOUR FOOD IS NOT WORTH IT, BUT YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AS WELL AS PER YOUR RESPONSE ON THIS REVIEW.
IF YOUR MEALS IMPROVE I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY FOR A MEAL AGAIN SOMETIME, SO DO NOT BOTHER OFFERING FREE MEALS TO EVERY NEGATIVE REVIEW AS THEY ARE MOST LIKELY TRUE.
@AliTandoori (21 Nov 2020)- I believe your updated response is for some other customer and you have had a mix up for your feedback somehow. I did not order for a veg dish. My order was 1 plate Chicken Biriyani and 1 plate Chicken Tikka. I did not call up or share any complaint before this review. This review is pertaining to the 2 items I ordered and there are no other replacements or refunds involved. Please share your responses based on actual order status as my review clearly states the dishes that I ordered and not based on some hunches from other...
Read moreNever usually disappointed when I come here but this wasn't the best dinning experience I've personally had at Ali Tandoori and I've had many brilliant nights here over the years. Last time I left a 5 star review but on this occasion I'm struggling to justify giving 4. All 6 of us had a great time but it was more down to the good laugh/company we had than it was from usual 'AT' high standards and as a business if your going to charge full pelt and not do any checks, honest feedback is what should be expected.
First of all They seem to have upgraded the look of their features which gives the restaurant a more stylish appearance. Upon arrival the waiter assumed and was almost quite persistent that we all wanted cobra beer. Given the fact that we had just come out of a pub that served us top quality German pilsner, I'm pretty confident in saying this wasn't the first thought on our minds but we just went with it. Popadoms were paper thin and I mean literally soo thin that you could break one up in to little pieces and comfortably fit it in your mouth. The chicken in my curry was dry/overcooked. I noticed this when I bit in to a piece and I could feel and hear that squeaky/rubbery noice you get as I was breaking it down with my teeth. This suggested to me that it was reheated which was a great shame and very surprising. Their was no table check (this is basic stuff) I also asked for a coke in between my meal and I was given a cobra beer then at the end they tried to charge us for it after I sent it back. Overall food wasn't quite up to the typical standards and staff could have been a bit more patient and attentive. These little glitches were all pretty 'un-Ali-Tandoori' like and I hope they won't reappear when we...
Read moreBooked under my name (not that it usually matters at all) as i was paying and also put my friend's name in in case he was early. I arrived early and whilst checking in with the guy behind the counter I discovered that they had decided to write down my friend's (white British) name ahead of mine (British Asian) on their list. As soon as my friend arrived we were rushed to a table with him saying, "Let's hurry lads, it'll be a busy night". We were the only/first ones to have had arrived yet. I also had to ask twice to get us some water and when it did arrive, it was just in one glass! I looked to my left to find a family of four, who had arrived shortly after us, with two jugs of water. Someone was ready to collect our plates within seconds of us finishing our meal to highlight the utter lack of professionalism. It was me, me not being white was the main issue regarding the lack of respect, not even a 'thank you' from the guy who looked like the owner on our way out. The fact that the most of the bad reviews are from non-white people should tell you a lot. Food isn't anything special if you know your food. I usually prefer places that look like and serve food like they do in Merchants of Spice or even Rishi but my friend insisted that we went to this pathetic excuse of a restaurant as he had his eyes on a specific dish that he always has which turned out to be worse than the last time he had it whilst mine was okay enough. Not that I was ever going to go back but you have most definitely lost my white (your favourite kind) friend as a...
