I arrived to eat solo. Had nice service throughout meal from most staff but the boss kept coming over and making inappropriate conversation and staring at me throughout. I enjoyed meal but when I went to pay the card machine wasnât working. The boss immediately started shouting in my face excusing me of not having any money and I straight away felt really shaken. I tried calmly to explain it was the connection and we could try fix it. He snatched my card from me and refused to try it again. I stood up and he squared up to me so I sat back down. He threatened to call police so I apologised to the table next to me for the noise and tried to leave. He chased me down restaurant and held the door shut so I couldnât get out and started shouting in my face again. By this time I felt very scarred and was brought to tears. I didnât know what to do so had to ask for help from one of the tables eating. Luckily there was four guys who stood up to help me. They protected me from the boss and allowed me to safely leave after confirming the machines were at fault and not my card. I have never been made to feel like that in a restaurant. Nor made to feel that upset as a lone female from a male stranger. If I wasnât so shaken up by it Iâd consider calling the police about the intimidation.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and very unsafe if lone female.
Thank you so much to the four lads who stood up for me and helped me out in such a horrible situation. You...
Read moreJust had The MOST fantastic meal at Spice Valley, thought we would try here after reading reviews on the new Indian restaurant and our original choice being closed tonight, well what can I say apart from I'm glad our previous choice was closed. From the start we were warmly greeted, shown to our table and drinks order taken. Had a lovely pink Rose, ancora, a pinot grigio. I spoke with a gentleman ( who I later discovered was the co-owner) who recommended a couple of dishes for me as I like flavour but not too much Spice. My other half had the special mussel sukka to start and I had the murg kethi kebab , a chicken dish, on recommendation. I then had rahah shikari gosht, a minced and cubed lamb dish, my other half had Raj Bengal, a king prawn dish. We shared a saffron rice, I had a keema naan, the other half, a peshwari naan. The food was amazing, tasty, hot , well presented and very filling. The lamb dish I had was right on the limit for me for spicyness but I really enjoyed it. The decor of the restaurant is lovely and the water walls are very relaxing. We had a chat with the owner after, which was really nice and he very kindly gave us a drink on the house. If you like Indian food but want something a little different to the run of the mill Indians then this is the place. I highly recommend this place and will definitely...
Read moreWe moved to Norwich in Feb this year, first time having an Indian since moving, so looked around and saw Spice Valley has been voted best in the Easy of England so thought weâd give it ago.
Upon walking in we were greeted instantly and seated, first thing we noticed was how clean the place was, with great decor, the light up menus allow a nice atmosphere with no bright lights, a very clever touch.
We ordered starters of Prawn Puree which came in a timely manner, had this dish many many times before, but this one had more flavour than any weâve had before was delicious.
We ordered Lamb Madras for our main with Garlic rice, which I couldnât see on the menu but they still made it for us, the lamb was very tender and the curry was awesome, we had a side of onion bahjis and these blew us away, literally no grease at all off these and tasted sooooo good
The service was first class start to finish, the most attentive, friendly staff in any Indian restaurant weâve ever been to, by the end of our meal we were stuffed but the waiter still offered to box up what was left which we thought was a very kind gesture
Honestly this was our first time visiting this restaurant and can honestly saw I wonât bother with anywhere else, I can see why itâs voted the best in the East...
