Great breakfast in a nicely decorated and spotlessly clean café, located 5 minutes’ walk from Premier Inn (Nelson) and Norwich railway station. Our large breakfasts were served piping hot with good quality ingredients, with a pot of tea for two. The fried eggs were spot on, cooked but still runny! Nice atmosphere and my Wife and I were made welcome by the friendly owner. Many of the other customers were regular local residents, which is always a good sign. The owner gave us directions to Norwich Castle (and the shops), head north on same road, turn left and walk through the gate at the castle entrance. We enjoyed the castle exhibition regarding Boudica and Roman occupation, but the adjacent art collection less so. However, the nearby Norwich Museum at the Bridwell was really good, with a history and exhibits from the industrial development of Norwich in the past 200 hundred years. This place is more than at first it might appear, it's not a 'greasy spoon cafe', but it's much much more than that.
Spotlessly clean and covid compliant with a choice of seating in or outside of the building.
Top quality selection of snacks and wholesome cafe food that you'd expect from a puker trained chef.
Great coffee and he usually has a selection of pastry or a nice slice of cake. I'd recommend the afternoon coffee and cake.
Shout out to the efficient, pleasant and very hard working waitresses.
Honestly if you are looking for a nice little walk out, then do have a wander down to the historic King Street quarter.
Oh and it's a proper dog friendly environment too.

Read moreStopped here for lunch, paid £4.20 for a "bacon, avocado and egg" sandwich which turned out to be a single slice of thin-cut bacon, a hard-boiled egg from the fridge cut into slices and chunks of refrigerated avocado.
I'd have been fine with it for half that price, but this is the same price-point as many other cafes in the area which do the same sandwich far better, so I can't really recommend coming here for that. (I have no idea about their other food however, which might well be great).
