Appalling! We will never go again and highly don't recommend it. We booked a table for 8pm and was looking forward to our date night as we've never been here before. It was very busy and loud. When we got there, we waited for a bit before we got served and the lady asked us to wait at the bar whilst she prepares our table. We waited over 10mins and during that time, a family of 5 and a couple came in too waiting to be seated. To our shock, the lady came back and seated the couple to arrived after us! I went up to remind her that we were here first and my table should have been ready by 8pm, to which she apologised and said she'll seat us right away. She gave us a big table of 5 when it was just us 2!

Service was poor, we waited for ages for the waiters to come round with the meat as they just kept skipping us despite our discs on the table clearly showed that we wanted to be served. We ended up complaining to the waitress that the waiters with the meat kept skipping us, yet even then, they still skipped us and the waitress herself had to go after them to tell them not to skip us!

The salad bar didn't have a sneeze guard, which was worrying in this current climate. However, I'd say the variety of salad was good. The meat served was very salty and raw to say the least. The waitress said the beef will be served medium rare, which is fine, but look at the pictures! The best meat served was probably just the lamb, which is quite disappointing. When we were full, we turned the disc over to red, which meant that we didn't want anymore, but the waiters still kept trying to serve us meat! So I don't know what's the point in those discs! Moreover, the waitresses also got told off by the manager as they were busy standing around chatting rather than serving the customers/drinks.

It's a rip off considering it's £30/pp for this "buffet" as we filled ourselves with chips and salad mainly whilst we waited for the meat to be served. There's also a discretionary service charge which is automatically added to the bill unless you remove it, which of course we didn't pay. A genuine honest review . Firstly I have eaten here at estabulo Norwich on my occasions and every time it's been 100% amazing we have never had a bad experience until this evening Sunday 29th October 2023.

We had pre booked a table online for 4 @7:15pm. When we arrived we noticed that the restaurant was fairly empty compared to previous visits (not Sundays).

The salad bar was very empty with food that had clearly been there for quite some time. Nothing at all was fresh. The garlic mushrooms were empty ( a favourite of mine) The did get refilled at 8:10pm 40 mins after we arrived. So we all got our plates with what we could salvage of what was left and we sat down to wait for the meat. The whole table commented on how long it even took to get the meat in compared to any other time on a previous visits which was a little disappointing . I personally like my meat well done , even though I was given a well done card. Nothing at all they were bringing out was well done. Our table was right in the corner at the other side of the restaurant , and we were always the last people to be served and by the time the waiter got to us , there was not enough meat on that skewer to provide for our whole table so some people went without certain meats and the servers didn't go back to get the same meat so everyone could have the same . The chips where also served in small metal baskets (not the usual plates you get and they where only partly cooked) We generally felt let down compare to every other time we've been. I can only put this down to the fact it was a Sunday evening (I'm guessing a quiet period) .

I can honestly say I won't be visiting here on a Sunday ever again and I would advise anyone else looking to visit to avoid Sundays as you will not get the full experience like on any other day.

I have been now 3 times each with differing opinions. First, the positives:

Amazing food. Definitely quality meats. The waiters who bring around the food are always friendly and happy to provide.

Staff: Most staff you meet are absolutely fabulous, and the manager is always lovely (didn’t catch his name)

Atmosphere: It’s a lovely venue as always with incredible decor. Everyone always seems to be having a great time.

Accessibility: As a disabled person, it is imperative for a place I eat at to be accessible. Easy access to the salad bar, bar and toilets.

However, my last visit brought negatives.

Food: The last two times I’ve been I haven’t seen any chicken and bacon and I love their chicken and bacon! This is a personal thing. Everything else is amazing.

Staff: Yesterday staff seemed to be very busy and it took 5 minutes to get seated, and a further 5 to get drinks ordered. The drink I received was wrong. This is okay, as someone who has worked in the industry myself it’s okay to get stuff wrong sometimes. It took quite a few minutes to get my correct drink back, but these are very small grievances.

However, there was one staff member who seemed very inattentive, and I won’t name that person as I did know who they were from previous interaction. She just wasn’t very good and never brought us the tinfoil we asked for. Maybe a personal grievance against myself so won’t hold it against her, just quite unprofessional. I must stress that all other staff were amazing, but this is the reason I have given 4 stars not 5.

All in all, I would definitely, without a shadow of a doubt recommend Estábulo. It is an amazing experience with exquisite food and for the most part great staff who tend to your every need. Please bring out more chicken and...
