I absolutely love coming to the Woolpack Inn and whenever I have family visiting from abroad this is always the first place I bring them especially for the Sunday Roast! Today I brought my sister to try out the turkey and beef duo and she loved it! It came nice and hot from the kitchen! I’ve been coming to the Woolpack for years now and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming! Would recommend it to anyone!

I had a Scotch Egg and the Turkey and ham pie. Both were tasty. The pie's top crust was not burnt but still extremely hard. It was difficult to break through even with a knife. Staff were friendly, though I waited at least five minutes (menu down) for someone to come take my order, even though there were 3 wait staff within 4 meters of my table.

Restaurant on a weekday night wasn’t too crowded. It’s a typical old English pub with wooden furniture and upholstered seats. You order at the counter and they serve the food. Wide selection of beer they had. Food was ok not exceptional. We had bao buns, fish and chips, calamari. Prices are reasonable.

We had booked a table for 4 for a meal on a Tuesday lunchtime so it wasn't that busy. I wanted the fish but they didn't have it so I choose the rump steak and so did one other in our party. I ordered medium rear and the other ordered medium. When they came out neither were how they should have been both were very well done and were like shoe leather. We complained and they said they would bring another out for both of us. They didn't take our original plate away but just left it in front of us. At least 10 minutes passed before they then just bring another steak on a plate out for both of us but nothing else but by this time everything on our first plate was cold. So we complained again so they left the steak on its own on a plate. We tried the steak and they were both much better and how they should have been the first time, so we started to eat the steak before it got cold then ten minutes later the chips and all the other bits came out but by then we had finished the steak. So we told them to take the chips back as we were very angry by this time. We had had a three course main meal, Thats a first. Needless to say we didn't pay for our two meals. The girls had a curry and that was fine. However we will not be...

We received a lovely welcome when we popped in for lunch. The service and food were exceptional. They are dog friendly too, which was a bonus.

However, the pub no longer owns the car park. It has been sold to Brittania Parking who use cameras for security. There is a £3 charge for parking but there are very few signs. We reversed parked into the disabled bay. My husband was more concerned about getting me out of the car safely and also getting the dog out too. It wasn't until we were halfway through the meal that my husband saw the parking sign through the window. Once we finished the meal he went looking for the pay machine. This was situated down the back of the car park and around the corner. He paid retrospectively but the staff in the pub said we may still get a parking ticket. If we do, they said to send them the details and they we try and get the ticket quashed for us. If there had been signs on the side of the car park we were facing we would, undoubtedly, have seen them and this situation would not have arisen. We are also left wondering why the pay machines are effectively hidden at the back of...

Enjoyed playing darts and eating here, the only let down which I will say is quite a significant one is the parking situation. The first two times I did not spot the signs as they are not clear and obvious, despite the owner insisting there is lots of signs (which there is to be fair) most people in the reviews including myself did not notice them. Nor did any of the people I took to the pub. In all honesty from what I can see is damaging your reputation, please move the meter to the front of the car park with a sign saying pay and display above so it is obvious. I am now awaiting two tickets which will need to be rescinded. I will still continue to use the pub as they do offer £3 off the parking which isn’t enough sometimes as I like playing darts for a while and now I know the parking situation and understand its reasons have no problem with it other than it not being clear and obvious despite the many attempts at...
