DISGRACEFUL ......................
As.a weekly client along with my husband, friends and family and live in the local area and have never been banned from any pub in my 56 years
This evening I ordered several drinks and drank outside with my colleagues,
I went inside for the third order of several drinks and as with my colleagues outside was cold I simply asked a male bar staff member if the outside area of the pub was considering installing heating as it was cold outside this time of year.
However, without any answer to my questions and no explanation, I was abruptly told in front of other customers at the bar by this male member of bar staff I was BANNED from the premises.
I asked why and was not given any answer and was in a very humiliating and public way told to leave the premises
While I was trying to apologise to my colleagues outside that I could not buy them a drink and had to unexpectedly leave, the same male member of staff came outside and disgustingly told me to leave the footprint of the premises which again was humiliating and he was verbally intimidating
I am disgusted with the unfair conduct which was unprofessional and unethical
I have lived in Norwich, London and various countries across the world and NEVER been banned from a public house, I have also for decades worked in public houses, hospitality and the tourism and leisure sectors. I am appalled by this...
Read moreThe Hop Rocket has only been open for just over a month now. But, it has already proved to be very popular in the NR2 area of Norwich.
This is the mini version of The Brewery Tap in Norwich. It is run and managed by a former member of the staff.
With 8 real ales and 12 keg lines. Plus, take away beers and cans. If you're a beer enthusiast then there will be something for you.
Plenty of gins and whisky if you're not into beer. Soft drinks or alcohol free beers are also available if you fancy a night off.
Food is available in the form of sausage rolls and filled rolls. However, take away food is also allowed to.
Children are allowed up until 7 pm inside and 9 pm outside. There are also baby changing facilities available as well.
The Six Nations were also being shown on live TV. Whether live sports will be shown often or just the big occasions I don't know.
Tap take overs by prominent breweries are also planned for later in the year.
It is a small pub and does fill up very quickly, especially at weekends. So, if you want to get in get there early.
You'll enjoy yourself though as the staff, atmosphere, and...
Read moreThere are so many great pubs in Norwich, but this modern micropub / corner shop conversion was worth the 20 minute walk from the city centre.
8 cask beers, 12 keg and an interesting selection of cans in the fridge for drinking in or taking away.
Room for about 40 people inside, plus a small outside drinking area at the front.
Helpful and friendly staff.
-------- Review 2 ---- Ok, It's not often that I review places more than once, but the Hop Rocket really hits the sweet spot if you're looking for: (1) an interesting selection of well kept cask beers, (2) craft/Indy keg beer (3) a well stocked beer fridge (4) a pleasant environment in which to drink all of the above. Need I say more? It has a "micropub" vibe as opposed to being a cosy old fashioned local. No sports screens. Quiet discreet background music. So long as that's what you like then you should...
