The Mediterranean — Restaurant in Norwich

I ordered a takeaway from this restaurant a few days ago and I'm sad to say even though the food was great I will not be returning there. We used to go every Friday as a large group, but this last time I decided to order a takeaway and sad to say the best thing was my interaction with the driver.

The food arrived a full 45 mins after it was promised the driver apologised and was very friendly as I took the bag I felt something drip before I left the car park I noticed a huge pool of tomato sauce in the bag it had accumulated from 2 of the kebab packs getting squished together. I called the restaurant and told them they apologised and said the driver would come collect it and bring a new order and they would refund me for the trouble. I agreed the driver came apologised was so lovely having had to drive back to verify the food was crushed.

Long story short: they were lovely until I left the restaurant. Then 2 days later they withdrew the money from my account. I called to ask what happened the lady was rude, kept interrupting me, said I had asked them to make a second order and they were being friendly and generous by making me a second order and that I had squished the food myself and it wasn't their fault. Then when I said I would like to speak to Just Eat about their service she said "Do whatever you want." Very rude and unhelpful with very poor English safe to say I will not be returning there once...

What a disappointment. We visited the Mediterranean on Saturday evening, October 28th, first time in years. We were really looking forward to our meal out, knowing it used to be absolutely fab. Oh dear, how mistaken we were. The service wasn’t good, cocktails were served from some ready made up bottles. The whole place was a bit run down, lights weren’t working in the bar area (making it harder to find our cocktails). We thought, well it happens, maybe new personnel… Now food. We had asked the waitress about two dishes we were about to order. The way it was explained to us had nothing to do with the mains we had received. I couldn’t even eat my lamb meal. Hard, chewy, sinking in tomato sauce with no flavour. Just bad. The other lady who has been working there for years was informed that the food wasn’t up to anyone’s expectations and all we needed was the bill. She decided to ignore us even though the place wasn’t busy, I reckon because we didn’t like the food? We paid the bill in full and left the place. Don't bother ordering a takeaway from here!!! We waited 2 hours for our food to arrive as it was 45/50 minutes late and the delivery driver didn't even come to our door, I had to walk 5 mins down the road to collect it from her car. Food was cold so we called the restaurant asking them to replace it with fresh, hot food or to give us a refund and the man called OSMAN was very rude to us over the phone, demanded that we do not touch the food so they can come and collect it. Osman didn't even take a second to listen and understand our complaint, we had to repeat ourselves over and over again whilst getting interrupted constantly. They said they were not going to replace the food with a fresh order but then they didn't even bother coming to collect the cold food in the end so it's a complete waste of time and money. They need to learn some hospitality because they clearly do not have any manners or respect for their customers. Really, do not waste your time and money on...
