I really didn't want to give the Two Magpies a 5 star review. So much so that I have put off reviewing them for months. Hoping that something would happen to give me cause to denigrate them with a little spiel of spite. However, nothing went to plan, I was never greeted with an expletive, or had dandelion leaves in lieu of lettuce, everything was of reasonable quality and the staff, despite working very diligently, are friendly, pleasant and professional. Though it is a little more expensive than Bread Source, Bread Source, unlike the Two Magpies, is not always up to standard, indeed, I have taken milk from cows that was warmer than a Bread Source latte. The Two Magpies with its design integrity and well heeled clientele makes me confuse Timber Hill for Notting Hill. With an independent book shop close by, I am busy writing a screen play. The plot concerns a studious young man, who inadvertently wins the heart of a famous Hollywood actress, who has come to Norwich to eat, love and prey. The movie will be called "Timber Hill" with many of the convoluted love scenes set in the Two Magpies.

I figured I'd grab a cake on my way home from the city... It wasn't good. Food - I had a late lunch so I figured I'd grab a slice of fudge cake for dinner. It looked the part but the cake was dry and the icing was rock hard, I don't know what it was but I had to microwave it to get a fork through it. I give them a 2 star because I've tried their pastries before and they're marginally better, again, they look the part but they're just fine. I'd recommend heading the Bread Source if you're looking for better pastries or the Cuppie Hut for better cakes. Service - They take allergy control seriously and were very friendly, it's come a long way from how it was when it first opened, they can't help the food being poor. Atmosphere - Its clean and comfortable, cold and impersonal but it has those vibes of middle aged "yummy mummy" taking a coffee break after shopping in John Lewis vibes, prepackaged, Waitrose magazine cover, corporate aspiration, waiting room shike, I don't love it. - Wheelchair accessible and level access toilets available, easy parking available at Castle mall.

This place is phenomenal. I paid a visit on a Saturday, thanks to Google Maps and Reviews. It was a fleeting visit to Norwich, and I bought a sausage roll to take away. My goodness. This is no ordinary sausage roll. Expensive at over £4 but absolutely delicious. The only better sausage roll I have had was at a bakery in the Cotswolds, but still, this was fantastic. So much so, that I returned the next day to order some more sausage rolls to take home as well as a couple of sourdough baguettes. Well. What can I say. The baguettes were just divine. I enjoyed them at home with French butter and then also blue Stilton. I imagine they would be fantastic with ham too. The only other sourdough I have had to rival this is the bread by Hambletons, which is legendary. I had to skip on the cakes (I'm trying to avoid too much sugar) although they did look delicious. Bakery and sit down area was rammed and understandably so. Fabulous. Do go. When it's this good, you are only doing yourself a disservice by going somewhere cheaper. Life is too short to skimp!

I recently visited Two Magpies Bakery and, sadly, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in the UK. We spent around £50-£70 on food and drinks, expecting quality service and a warm meal. However, when our food arrived, it was freezing cold. While the flavors were nice, it’s a shame they couldn’t serve it at the right temperature.

On top of that, I ordered a simple iced black Americano, but it arrived loaded with caramel syrup—something I specifically did not ask for. When I pointed this out, the woman serving us immediately pushed back, saying, “That’s how we make our coffee.” She told me that I’d be charged if I wanted it remade, only reluctantly offering to remake it after I expressed my dissatisfaction. Even then, her attitude was dismissive and unfriendly, as though my request for the correct drink was somehow an inconvenience.

The lack of accountability and unapologetic response from the staff was genuinely surprising. Instead of showing basic courtesy, they blamed my “tastebuds” for the issue, making the experience feel even more unpleasant. I expected much better from a place with such a reputation, but unfortunately, poor customer service and cold food overshadowed everything else. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a warm meal and respectful service—certainly not worth the...

My partner and I come here for a late breakfast every couple of weeks as we live very close by. I am a wheelchair user so have a very small selection of places I can visit!

Two magpies has always been top of my list for breakfast, treats and drinks and their wheelchair access is really fantastic, the staff always make the visit easy and always approach me with kindness (not always guaranteed as a disabled person!)

The bakery is step free and flat throughout, their accessible toilets are large enough for my power chair and are kept clean and neat. When it's busy I do need to ask people to move their chair to make a path for me but that isn't a massive deal. The tables are good for my power chair to fit underneath comfortably. The counter of pastries can be a little tall to be able to fully see everything from my chair but the staff are extremely helpful and happy to answer questions. The till area is a good height for me from my chair and I have ample room around the counter to move and turn my chair around without issue! Overall the access is really really good and I feel safe and at ease...
