This is my second time visiting Wrights Norwich, and I’m afraid the experience was not the best again :( I’d like start off saying the staff are really lovely and friendly. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are great!
However, this being said both times I’ve had unfortunate experiences.
First time I went my friend and I both found hairs in our breakfast that wasn’t ours. The staff were polite and apologetic and refunded me for the meal which I hugely appreciated. Unfortunately, it did leave me feeling unwell and put me off food for the rest of the day. :(
Because of how good the staff were with the first instance I thought I would go again, what’s the worst that could happen? (oh silly me) Took the family for breakfast (delicious) on Sunday 4th May and had a lovely experience… until I went to the toilet.
Went to the toilet and sat down (as you do), it was here I realised my mistake.
All over the floor was someone else’s poo.
Someone had clearly had a bad time in this particular toilet and left sh*t all over the floor… my heart sunk even more when I recognised the poopy foot prints on the floor were… my own. Panic set in when I noticed my jeans were on the floor with the poo… I took a deep breath, got up and tried to avoid the poop. I turned round to flush (as mother did not raise an animal unlike the person before me) and I gasped - there was also poop on the toilet seat. I sat in it as well :(
I told the staff who went to clean it (felt really bad for the girl hope she’s okay for I was scarred from the experience), all day I felt dirty, stinky and overall repulsed by myself. I would have gone home but I had tickets to watch ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’… so I had to sit in a theatre with poopy shoes, my whole family laughing at me. In fact, I’m in the theatre right now as I write this, trying not to shudder.
I am laughing about it but ngl it is really disgusting and horrible… No one deserves to walk in someone else’s poop. I won’t be coming back to Wright’s, I dread to think of what will happen on my 3rd visit. £20 spent on a delicious breakfast and a...
Read morePopped in here early Saturday evening for what we hoped would be a pleasant drink and perhaps some food as part of our weekend trip to Norwich. It has a calm, earthy vibe with good decor.
I’d love to tell you what the drinks and food are like but alas, the person serving behind the bar never got around to bringing us a menu, let alone serving us anything. This was despite two attempts to remind them. They seemed so very pleasant, but massively preoccupied with all the mundane things. You know, like rearranging the spoons, or cloths, or kitchen equipment behind the bar. But not actually attending to customers it seems.
We left bewildered and wondering how the other six customers in the place actually received their drinks. Perhaps they brought them from home? Or just popped behind the bar and helped themselves the whimsical bar person was distracted by a napkin?
We...
Read moreMy first visit to Norwich in quite some time and I wanted a late lunch and this cafe looked really nice. Decor good, space between tables and I liked the look of the menu. I chose iced tea for a very warm day and it was delicious. However, my so called posh toastie of plum chutney, brie, mozzarella and rocket was a different story. I was hungry and in a hurry so didn't complain at the time but on reflection I should have done. The two halves of the toastie were stuck together in a congealed lump with the soggy rocket sticking out the sides. I needed a knife and fork to eat it and couldn't distinguish the flavours, certainly not the plum chutney. If I had not paid up front I would definitely have said something when paying the bill. It was so full of promise, the staff were friendly but sadly this food experience has put me...
