Not a great experience and sadly the only positive point was the absolutely lovely waitress that was here previously, The bruchettta was just chopped tomatos on dry toast. The pasta on the spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti bolognese were both undercooked, meaning the pasta was hard and it was overly salty Having spoken to the chef about the issues we faced (who was also the new owner) he assumed this was solely based on just the huge price increase. Which it wasn’t but was also a negative factor, Will sadly not return and I’m sad as this was a firm favourite in Sherwood. And something that we would often crave to come to! None of the previous items were on the menu as he previously stated would be. And no staff from before apart from the already stated waitress.
A can of coke was £4 Dried toast with chopped tomato’s £8 Undercooked and over salted carbonara £15 . Also overheard him speaking that he had had no previous complaints, but during the whole duration of us being here, nobody else had sat down to eat, Only two women that looked at the menu...
Read moreI have to say, thinking i was coming in to new owners, i was a little bit perturbed that it was a rebranding. However after my last experience i have to say it was alot better. The service was great. The food was ok (i made it past the starters today) I do not think it was expensive, but got what i paid for.. It would of cost the same at a green king!. I believe in second chances and i am glad i did. Although it will not be my go to Italian the guys are trying to get to where they need to be and honest reviews and feedback will only help a long running local business succeed and local support is needed. The other thing is that i wish they would say it has been a rebranding and referb, the locals would stand by that. I would still have tried again... thankyou for your hospitality and i hope you receive my feedback...

Then we got tiramisu and a lemon dessert, both were delicious and you could tell they're freshly made.
So all in all, Locanda Verona gifted us an amazing evening and the food is even better than most you get in Italy. We will be...
