I have visited Water's Edge on numerous occasions, and I must say that overall, I have been quite satisfied with my experiences there. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a kind and friendly staff who always go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant visit. One of the standout qualities of Water's Edge is its excellent value for money. The prices are reasonable, and you truly get great bang for your buck. You can enjoy a delicious meal or a refreshing beverage without breaking the bank. However, I must admit that the overall quality of the place does have room for improvement. While the service and ambiance are fantastic, there are areas where the establishment falls a bit short. The food, although tasty, could benefit from a more refined touch and attention to detail. Similarly, some aspects of the venue could use a bit of sprucing up to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal. That being said, the aforementioned drawbacks should not deter anyone from visiting Water's Edge. The positives of this establishment far outweigh the negatives. It is a lovely place to spend time with friends or enjoy a peaceful moment alone. The scenic view of the water adds an extra dimension of tranquility, making it a great spot to unwind and relax. In conclusion, while there is room for improvement in terms of quality, I would still highly recommend Water's Edge. The friendly staff, affordable prices, and overall welcoming atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit. I have no doubt that with a few tweaks, it could become even more exceptional.

In the past we have eaten here and the food was nice. But this time we were really disappointed. We waited for our food for nearly an hour, a few times I had to ask the staff where it is as other people who had ordered their food were getting served first. We were told a poor excuse that because we ordered our starters and puddings at the same time our food takes longer. The thing is we did not order any starters. Also when we finished our dinner we then requested our pudding, which were ice cream sundaes, so I doubt they were prepared at the same time as our dinner! One of our orders was a steak that was supposed to come out sizzling on a hot plate but it was not. It was tough and chewy. The food was really basic and not very nice but we were so hungry and tired we ate some. The puddings were delicious tho. The bar staff was friendly. However the toilets were disgusting. It would be a huge help tho if the staff would tell customers upon arrival to register their car registration plate on the iPad on the bar counter. I only saw the iPad because I was so bored waiting for our food that I was looking around and noticed it. If you do not log your registration then you get a fine. I wonder how many people get caught out. All in all it was not an enjoyable experience. This was a rare treat, eating out with the family.

Visited twice here recently, once for food and the time after just for a drink. The food here is terrible, I cant imagine anyone coming here and being satisfied with the kind of food they serve up. I tried to go with a safe option, avoiding the peculiar sounding Vimto burger, so I ordered a chicken baguette. Sadly the baguette was crusty and stale, with 3 small pieces of horrible processed chicken inside and a couple of wrinkled old lettuce leaves. I went up to the bar to ask for some napkins and was told there were none in stock. I couldnt believe it, what restaurant runs out of napkins, that just shows the incompetence of the management here. On my second visit, i ordered a pint of Coors, which was sadly watery and obviously didn't have the right taste. It must have been the bottom of the barrel so I simply didnt drink it. On a positive they have stopped charging for parking. I suggest people AVOID this place and go across the road to Boathouse. The meals are so nice there and roughly the same price.

There are a great many fine dining experiences in Nottingham and I can honestly say that the Waters Edge is not one of them. The first thing I noticed on arrival was that none of the four cask ales were available. We grabbed a menu while we joined the lengthy queue to order and were pleasantly surprised by the non-meat options available for my vegetarian wife. Unfortunately, when we made it to the bar, we were informed that all of them were unavailable other than the nut roast, so she reluctantly ordered that. We ordered soft drinks for the kids and weren't offered glasses, so we went back to the bar to get some. One of the glasses we were given had pink lipstick marks on it, which whilst a nice touch wasn't quite what we were after so we returned it for a clean one. We sat at our sticky table and waited 50 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the nut roast was overcooked and inedible. I ordered the Sunday roast with beef, with the beef being similarly overcooked - the two grey slices that I was presented with had a texture similar to my wife's leather handbag. The gravy had a thick skin on it and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for some time, and the carrots were from a tin. My son's burger was not too bad, but the promised onions rings and fries turned out to be one onion ring and fries, so presumably they were running out of onions, too. The staff were all nice enough, but the service is extremely slow and the food only just qualifies to be called as such. There are so many eateries in Nottingham that are vastly superior to this in every way, so I strongly recommend that you avoid...

What can I say. This place has really gone downhill. I’ll admit, I’m not a regular visitor but I do visit every now & then & I thought tonight would be a nice family meal & drink in beautiful weather. What an awful experience so I am so glad I don’t come often & I certainly will never come back unless the management changes. We finally ordered our food after queuing for over half an hour. Everything we wanted wasn’t available so when we finally found something that was it took about another 40 mins to arrive. One of the family ordered fish & chips but when cutting into it there was no fish to be found. It was a long fat piece of pure batter so had to send it back. Part of our order was missing like rice & when we reminded the waitress it was no longer available. I have no complaints about the service as the staff were clearly run off their feet but still very friendly. What the place needs is more staff & better quality food. I’m a vegetarian & ended up having the ‘Green Burger’ because the original item I wanted wasn’t available. Little did I know that the burger bun was actually coloured green. What on earth makes the management think that a green bun is appetising??? It looked awful & didn’t taste much better - dry & flavourless & certainly not worth the money or bother. When there are so many turning to a meat free diet why is there not more choice on the menu & what possessed anyone to think that green food colouring would make a meal look better needs to find another job! If you like cheap poor quality food & slow service this place is for you, otherwise AVOID...
