The Horseshoes, Nuneaton — Restaurant in Nuneaton and Bedworth

We are first time visitors here and stopped by chance as we were hungry. If you want typical pub grub then this isn't for you. We both ordered a basket with exotic meat and a portion of chips. Firstly the chips are just like your mum would fry on a Saturday night, they are lovely. The exotic meat basket comes on skewers, well cooked and presented. I liked the crocodile, the kangaroo meatball and the zebra parcel. The aioli dressing is filled with fresh garlic and full of flavor, It's nice to taste all different kinds of meat and not just settle for a plain steak like other pubs would serve. My partner and I loved this place. The friendly bar staff moved quickly despite it being busy. It definitely feels family owned. We ordered something exotic foods full stop who would have known we could have had zebra, ostrich, kangaroo, and crocodile in Nuneaton?! Although it took some time for the food to come out, it was super tasty. I would definitely recommend the loaded chips with crab; they were so yummy!

The drinks are not to be sniffed at either full stop my partner enjoy the Tiger beer and I had several gin and tonics. I think the mince pie gin is my new favorite.
