We gave them a 2nd chance to redeem themselves after lockdown eased - NOPE, poor service again. 1st time, after they finally decided to serve us and even though there were 4 staff at the bar chatting, (I even tried waving the LED torch on my phone to garner attention) my main course turned up without fries. That's like forgetting the water from a cup of tea. 2nd time, the manager stood for an age tapping our order into a tablet before eventually giving up and writing it on a notepad while we looked at her and each other in awkward silence. Next our mains turned up before our starters, the person servings excuse was "Sorry but that's how it came out of the kitchen." (Maybe she wrote them down in the wrong order ;-} ). AND on inspection my egg was missing from the full mixed grill (again like forgetting the water from a cuppa). The egg turned up after pointing it out with an apology on a cold side plate. Well at least it matched the rest of the meal which was now also cold. I could tripe on further about the different coloured shoe leather, sorry I mean meat but what's the point.
Sorry guys, after all the time off with lockdown I would expect exemplary service just to have customers coming in to spend money and build up your business. I understand this is cheap 'pub grub' but come on! You have had the last of our hard...
Read moreWe took our grandson, aged 5, for his favourite fish and chips lunch at the William Wygston, JD Wetherspoons in Wigston, Leicestershire.Just before we ordered the meal. My grandson asked to use the toilet. Unfortunately, he has an intense fear of the blowing noise made by the hand drier and was too frightened to use the toilet. A member of the staff, Becky noticed the severe anxiety and distress my grandson was expressing about his concern. Without hesitation, Becky came to our assistance and tried to reassure our grandson that she would switch the dryer off.We have dined at the William Wygston on many occasions and had always found the staff friendly and very helpful but on this occasion, Becky was fantastic. She came to help us to ease our stressful situation. We would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Becky for her kind understanding in our time of need. Becky's actions went over and beyond our expectations. Thank you, Becky. You...
Read moreA group of us went for breakfast. I had a large breakfast which was substantial, fortunately I was hungry. I had the unlimited refill tea and coffee to accompany my meal which, is great if you are a coffee fanatic like myself, they have the usual cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and various flavours of tea including breakfast tea. The breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and toast, all cooked beautifully and was very tasty. The atmosphere was calm with lots of chatter from other patrons but not too loud that you couldn't enjoy your own. Everything was clean and sanitised. The staff were polite and friendly. One thing to consider is that you have to pay for parking in the public car park behind the Lloyds Bank across the road. Up to 2 hours is a pound, so not too bad. We left feeling full...
