Myself and my Mum and Dad went to Istanblue for an early birthday, evening meal on Tuesday 22nd August 2023. Upon arrival there was plenty of free parking behind the restaurant and we were seated immediately and asked if we'd like a window seat. Perfect šŸ‘ We were handed some menus and left for a bit to browse. When the waitress came to take our order she couldn't understand a word my Dad was saying and he had to repeat himself for everything he ordered. Our drinks and starters arrived in decent time and the fungi stufati (x2) (garlic mushroom), the hummus (x1) and the cheesy garlic bread we had were delicious šŸ˜‹ (we ended up waiting for the garlic bread but no biggy) Moving onto the main course is where everything fell apart. I'd ordered the pollo a la crema (chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce) and both Mum and Dad ordered a Bodrum each (slices of sirloin steak with a potato rosti style base and a spicy tomato sauce and yogurt dressing). What arrived at the table was two pollo a la cremas and one Bodrum. (In hindsight we should've just accepted that as Mum was torn between them both) however, we told them about the incorrect food and they went away with one pollo a la crema and made another Bodrum. Took a while but nonetheless Dad got his Bodrum in the end. The downside was it was incredibly salty. My pollo a la crema was really nice, however both Bodrums were a disappointment. The steak was full of fat and it was really chewy and definitely overcooked. For what we got it was totally overpriced. Ā£138 for 3 starters, 3 mains and 4 drinks! When you go out for a birthday meal you expect it to be all nice, and not feel guilty that my parents didn't enjoy their food. Never even bothered ordering dessert (which we would've done) because my Mum and Dad had given up on the quality of the food. You lost a Christmas Do booking (approx 12 people) after this. Can't say it was busy either as you only had 4 tables in.

Hi I attended Istanblue Royton for works christmas meal. The atmosphere and decoration was nice , it was very busy . Istanblue has a range of dishes all very expensive, so you expect top quality. I ordered a steak as pictured , you get fries/chips and veg . The streak was very tough and towards my end couple of bites it felt abit yucky in my mouth so I left it . One of the girls ordered the same streak as me and hers was literally half the size of mine But it was the same price?. The veg was just half a chopped tomatoe and half an onion, with a massive chilli. I didnt eat any of if . The chips were nice . I also got a coke, and the best thing of the night was the strawberry moktail. Overall some of the other girls I worked with really enjoyed their food. After we finished eating , some man kept comming over to the table hinting at us to get up . Some of the girls got very annoyed, at one point he said ' finish drinks at the bar". ye understandable the resturant was busy and they might have needed the table . But hey av just spend £200 not including the money spend in the cocktail bar. So if I have finished me meal and not yet paid yet , I can sit and relax and not be rushed out . I think next time instead of hints staff should just say "Would you like the bill". Instead of constantly coming over makin people feel uneased. Should you go?? Well if you want something differant then you should give it again. It's a nice little restaurant and always busy. Some of the waiters are really nice and helpful . But would I go probably not . I don't think Turkish food is for me, and the menu is so confusing you look at it but you dont really see it .

Don’t think I’ll be coming back, such a shame because this place used to be good. Served undercooked chicken, which we told staff about and didn’t get given any explanation or apology. The chairs were dirty with crumbs. When we got there, half the restaurant was taken over by a huge party of people who were just standing around, in-between people’s tables whilst they were eating. It was extremely expensive and it was not worth the price given our experience.

In response to our family meal and your terrible response to other family members reviews ,I would like to add my experience. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! I booked my daughter's 16th(yes 16 so the winks from grown men were inappropriate) birthday meal after seeing happy, lively photos on Facebook. How decieving are those photos....I assume they were taken upstairs at the cocktail bar. Prior to arriving ,I received numerous texts(after I had been in paying my deposit) saying you was going to cancel the booking as I hadn't paid the deposit on time. Luckily that was sent to my mobile not my daughter's as she would have been immensely upset. On arrival ,the youngest member of our party,a 5 year old autistic child accidentally spilled a drink. We cleaned up the spilt drink ourselves as the staff watched on,however the floor needed cleaning in a professional capacity, after waiting 5 minutes for someone to help clean the team member assisted and accidently slipped slightly, laughing at himself alongside our young children. No rude comments were made just laughter amongst young boys. The food that arrived for the youngest children was lovely,I also enjoyed my choice but however the steak meal was dry and bland. Yes the children were boisterous but we did inform you prior to booking that there was 5 children on our booking. The waiting on staff were very unhelpful and that is a fact. We all used our manners whilst being served as that is what you do.We apologised on numerous occasions with regards to the children noise, also I personally offered to pay for the broken glass to be told don't worry accidents happen. Upon our order for the chocolate fudge cake we had asked could we have ice cream on the side- not a out of the ordinary request. Yes of course with a 50p charge was tour response. Not a problem I was happy to pay . We received a chocolate cake that was NOT fudge cake with a blob of cream on the side. Lack of communication from front of house to the kitchen obviously. With regards to your McDonald's comment-after seeing your replies to the negative reviews I think you need to dine in one of their establishments for a lesson on customer service. Shocking response from a general manager ! To think I fought your corner on your Facebook post with regards to your POOR hygiene rating. I retract that statement- you are a rude arrogant man that will not run a successful long standing reputable business speaking to paying customers like dirt. I suggest you put a note on your page to notify the public that children...

PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU DINE HERE & CHECK YOUR BILL, SERVICE CHARGE IS OPTIONAL BUT THEY DONT TELL YOU THAT! Myself & my hubby have dined here on several occasions & never had a problem, the food & service has always been amazing. We visited this evening, Saturday 30th August & will NOT be going back ever again. Young waitress brings our bill over after our meal & trys to smack us with a bill just short of £300 trying to bill us for extra alcoholic beverages & food that we hadn't had or ordered. On taking the bill over to the till & speaking to the staff, they didn't seam to have a clue what we had ordered after serving us. They then bring a 2nd printed bill to our table & ask us to mark off the items we had ordered, they then produce a 3rd bill, which again still has several alcoholic beverages on which we did not order or have. I asked to speak to the manager & was told they were not here, "she is", as one young female waitress points to another. We then receive a 4th bill for the correct items we had ordered, but we're also being charge an extra £9.95 for Service charges. On questioning this, as on previous visits we have never paid a service charge when we have eaten here, we were told "After the refurbishment management decided to add a service charge". I told said waitress, "Thats funny, as we have eaten here since the refurb & never had a Service charge added to our visit". She then replied with "It is option". To that point I declined to pay the service charge & paid our bill, absolutely disgusted at the service & the fact that nowhere on the menu does it state anything regarding Service Charges. People dining at the table next to us were being charged £64 on top of their meal! We are in Royton not a Michelin...
