The Railway Royton — Restaurant in Oldham

We called in to watch some live music, which was very good, and it's a credit to the pub that they have it on. The pub itself is lovely, a traditional, locals bar,which is where our issue arose. Granted, they were busy, but we were ignored by 2 members of staff, who served around us. Now, we initially tried to give them the benefit of the doubt until one girl actually served a man who was standing behind us! A really pleasant chap,I think might have been the manager, swooped in to serve us, and apologised for the wait,just as we were contemplating leaving -and we'd travelled about 20 miles to see the act. He saved the day later on ,too,when it happened again, and I went to the bar alone. I'm all for locals and local pubs,but they are surely expecting passing trade when they have acts...

Worst service ever, amateur bar service, never seen any thing like it. Drink left ‘unattended’ even though it had a coat there and was a full drink. Also there were guests on the table but facing away. A simple ‘is this drink ok to clear?’would’ve been ideal. But no. That’s too much for paying customers. They just swipe it. And then the first thing they said is ‘well we can’t just give you back a free drink’ pathetic service. Also I watched that 2 pints were unattended for 25 minutes on the table next to us. I guess they don’t get took because the men were regulars??? Embarassing service. I guess that’s because I go into Manchester City centre nornally and they know how to be professional, oh well, never again. No common sense...

Was in the railway last night all enjoyable until the end. My friend was a bit tipsy so I helped him out and escorted him off site to the taxi rank across the road. I spoke to the bouncers to let them know my intentions but on returning they wouldn’t let me back in even though my wife was still in there. I tried reasoning with them, I did not swear, I did not show aggression, this only went on for about 30 seconds yet they became threatening and warned me they’d knock me out if I continued. Suffice to say I won’t be going back !!...
