The Barclay Pizza & Prosecco — Restaurant in Oldham

Visited today July 18th 2021 for a birthday treat. Friendly enough bar staff but unable to tell me which drinks were available. After numerous trips backwards and forwards, to be told no Martini (Vermouth), no Port, no Pimm's and a Mojito wouldn't be possible. This is a bar? Next step, ordering a pizza... Ordered 2 Portobello, one with tomato and one without due to a medical condition. Two pizzas arrived, both complete with tomato. This was remedied by one being returned to the counter top and waiting on another pizza without tomato, which is fine, however my partner had finished all of his by this time.

At no point did the chef come to check in with us or make an offer of recompense other than to serve the correct pizza. If this had been an allergy to a hidden ingredient after making my requirements known, it could have been a very different story. When our plates were removed there was no enquiry as to how the food was etc. The mushroom pizzas with truffle oil are nothing like they were up to one year ago. Why change the mix on something that was superb and well worth returning for? We have visited many times in the past to order the mushroom pizzas.

The woman (I assume she owes the bar) was discriminating against me!! Because of my id . As it is Hungarian and she had said that the police told her she can only accept British ?? I had contacted the police and they assured me this was not true . Very clear she did not want anyone who isn’t British in there 🤣 disgusting cannot believe I spent over £250 in there !!!! I was so respectful the whole time I was there ! I heard her talking about me to the bouncers so I had asked what her problem is in the nicest way possible and she then said oh no sorry we don’t accept anything that isn’t British !!!!! Hahahahahha absolutely crazy in this day and age . I didn’t say anything rude which I had to stop myself as I was very upset because absolutely EVERYWHERE else accepts my id no matter what or where . She clearly has never seen an id that isn’t British and she tried telling me it’s fake when the bouncers clearly checked it with there lights and equipment . The bar staff were lovely they also had checked my id and served me with it . At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what your source of identification is aslong as it proves your age...

We hired the mezzanine area at the Barclay for our daughters family gathering after her christening. It was a great place & perfect for this kind of gathering. The staff were lovely & couldn't do enough for you. The manager there that day "Becky" was fab & she was happy to help with anything we asked for. She also very kindly arranged for me to take some table decorations earlier on & very kindly set them all out for me & they looked perfect! The pizzas, graze boards & Prosecco wall were delicious, everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. The atmosphere was great & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
