Visited this cafe last year with my work colleague and her children, were treated nice due to the race mixture in our party (non white and white). It was my partner's birthday today and we decided to visit this cafe again as I thought I would actually get the same courtesy when I visited months earlier with the colleague but boy was I wrong. On entering the cafe, the staff a young girl saw us, she didn't say hello and decided to ignore us, we stood near the entrance for a couple of minutes and then decided to go and sit down, we sat down and still the staff didn't come over to introduce herself nor did she tell us how the cafe operate as things might have changed from the last time I visited, after about 10 minutes of sitting down in the cafe we decided to leave due to the customer service being appalling, on leaving the same staff didn't ask why we were leaving nor did she say anything else to us, she just watched us leave, this is a racist cafe, the staff is racist towards non-whites and I would advise anyone that is non white not to visit or spend a penny in this cafe. She replied "we close at 4pm." We responded that was fine too. Whilst talking to us she continued her conversation with her collegue, walked off, came back, couldn't find the card machine, walked off again before returning and muttering a nonchalant "sorry" She instructed us to sit as she'd bring the coffee over.
We weren't able to enjoy nor finish our coffees when we finally got it as there was hardly 10 minutes remaining before closing. We felt under pressure to gulp it down and leave!
I must mention that the reasons we remained cool, calm and polite is because we gave the staff/girl the benefit of doubt and tried to be understanding (maybe she had a long day...) However, I concede that sometimes unprofessionalism and rudeness should be addressed...
