Best Wings in Oxford,

Having thoroughly explored the menu of 5 Akhis in Oxford, I am prepared to provide a detailed review of my experience. I have, through dedicated effort, sampled every item on the menu, and I can attest to the exceptional quality and flavor of their dishes.

While the entire menu is of a high standard, the chicken wings deserve special commendation. In my extensive experience with various Oxford eateries, I have found that no other establishment produces wings of this caliber. They are consistently prepared with a perfectly crisp exterior and a tender, juicy interior. The accompanying sauce is a masterclass in flavor, achieving a harmonious balance of savory and spicy notes that enhance, rather than overpower, the natural taste of the chicken. The quality of these wings sets them apart, and I can unequivocally state that they are the finest wings available in Oxford.

Beyond the wings, the remaining menu items are equally impressive. The burgers are substantial and well-seasoned, the fries are consistently golden and crisp, and the fries are a magnificent and satisfying meal in their own right. The establishment's commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients is evident in every dish, and the house-made sauces and toppings are a testament to their culinary attention to detail.

The service at 5 Akhis is consistently professional and welcoming, with staff demonstrating a clear passion for their craft. The atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to both a quick meal and a more leisurely dining experience.

In conclusion, my culinary journey through 5 Akhis has been a highly positive one. While all dishes are commendable, the chicken wings represent a particular highlight. For those seeking well-executed, flavorful cuisine, and especially for those in pursuit of the best chicken wings in Oxford, 5 Akhis is a...

Food is decent but horrendous customer service. My wife drove half an hour from the other side of Oxford this evening to collect an order. Towards the end of her hour round trip I recieved a phone call to say that they had given her the wrong order, with not even an apology or acknowledgement that it was their mistake. They said they wanted her to drive back to collect the correct order and that they would not charge for the order. When she arrived back there, they implied that it was her fault that she had taken the wrong order, and offered no refund, also asking for the drink from the incorrect order that she had left in the drinks holder of her car, before another staff member said “don’t worry about the drink”. My partner explained what was happening so I told her to leave the food with them and ask for a refund, and that I would now drive down (a third hour round trip) to give them what for. I arrived at their restaurant and told them I want my food freshly prepared and my petrol costs reimbursed. They agreed to make my food and offered me a milk cake in the way of an apology for their mistakes, which I declined. This place clearly thinks they can treat women differently to men. I told them I will contact their head office on Monday morning....

While visiting Oxford, after soaking in the charm and history of the city, we were on the hunt for a good halal burger spot — and we struck gold with Five Akhi’s!

The name first caught our attention (we guessed it meant “Five Brothers” based on arabic), but during our chat with the staff, we found out it’s actually a friends-owned business, which made the experience feel even warmer and more genuine.

We started with the spicy coated jalapeño bites, followed by the honey garlic wings on recommendation — and both were packed with flavor. For the main, we shared their classic 6oz burger, customized with double cheese, gherkins, onions, and house mayo (we skipped the caramelized onions), and it was honestly one of the best burgers we've had.

What really impressed us was that all their burgers are freshly handcrafted using 100% Prime British Angus Beef, grass-fed and dry-aged — and you can definitely taste the quality in every bite.

After eating, we lingered a while, just enjoying the view and the relaxed vibe, watching cars go by. It was the perfect lunch stop — satisfying, flavorful, and full of heart.

Highly recommended if you're ever in Oxford and craving a real, quality burger with a...

We ordered a takeaway meal and my burger arrived raw in the middle. We called the restaurant to explain and shared the photo, to which we were told that credit would be added to the account. That would have been the end of it. But a disgruntled chef then decided the best course of action would be to call our mobile back and aggressively accuse us of calling the shop multiple times to complain. In reality we had only called the once to explain the situation. The chef then refused to answer if the burger was safe to eat and kept pushing the narrative of us harassing the shop. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this employee. For anyone who isn't aware, minced beef cannot be eaten raw unless the steak it was originally produced from was seared before being minced. This is due to the bacteria that grows on the surface of beef and poses a serious health risk if not cooked correctly. Of course I cannot say for certain if this was done, but I also doubt that a fast food chain like this minces it's own beef in store to order. The offensive behaviour of this chef mixed with his delusion that there was nothing wrong with the food was absolutely shocking.
