I'm certainly no coffee connoisseur, but I drink a lot of it. From the college SCR's self-grinding espresso maker to my trusty nespresso machine, I consume a lot of mediocre-to-decent coffee and am satisfied with it, rarely finding the need to go pay for coffee in coffee shops. However, Quarter Horse is my exception. The coffee here is quite frankly just consistently amazing, the baristas are friendly and fun to talk to, and the toasted banana bread is divine. As someone who has a wheat allergy and has a love for pastries, it can be difficult to find tasty treats that reach the deeps of my pastry loving soul! We had the carrot cake – the frosting is not too sweet, the cake a little dry although granted we had the end bit! Is it essential that café cakes are just a bit stale? Staff are fine and don’t dote (not sure if this is a conscious decision).
