A Five-Star Feast at Tender coconut – A True Taste of India
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tender coconut , and I must say – it was an absolute treat from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of Clowley road, this Indian restaurant doesn't just serve food – it serves an experience.
Food: The menu is a delightful celebration of authentic Indian flavours. Every dish we ordered was bursting with spices, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The butter chicken was rich and velvety, the dosha tender and flavourful, and the Appam was fresh from the tandoor, with just the right amount of crisp. Portions were generous without being overwhelming – you can tell the chefs take real pride in their craft.
Drinks: Their drinks menu is well-curated, with a good mix of classic and house-special cocktails. I tried the mojito – a brilliant twist that was both refreshing and punchy. They also offer a decent selection of wines and mocktails to suit every palate.
Ambience & Vibes: The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with décor subtly infused with Indian elements – think ambient lighting, soft music in the background, and a touch of traditional charm. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and the service was impeccable. Whether you're going for a casual meal or a special evening out, it strikes the perfect balance.
Ambitions & Promise: You get the sense that this place is going places. There’s clear ambition behind the team – not just to serve great food, but to create a memorable experience. From the thoughtful presentation to the creative menu options, they’re aiming high and hitting the mark.
All in all, Tender coconut is a gem worth visiting. I left with a full stomach, a happy heart, and every intention of...

I recently ordered from this hotel and was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. Every dish was packed with authentic flavours, cooked to perfection, and delivered fresh and hot. As someone who enjoys traditional South Indian cuisine, I was truly impressed – it felt like a taste of home!
What surprised me even more was how much my English friends loved the food too! The spices were well balanced, and the dishes were rich, flavorful, and satisfying without being too overwhelming. It’s clear that the chefs know how to cater to all taste buds while keeping the authenticity intact.
Highly recommended for anyone – whether you’re familiar with Kerala cuisine or trying it for the first time. Great food, friendly service, and a wonderful...

Please expect service to run a little slow before dinner as Gil (owner and chef) runs it by himself and a colleague before it gets busier for dinner. Gil’s such a warm host and very friendly!
Had the Ghee Roast dosa and for the price (£7.95), I think it’s worth it because the dosa’s crispy, coconut chutney was really good too because a lot of the times they pulverize the coconut to a paste and you don’t get that coconut texture anymore - definitely not the case here! The masala chai was also really good too - not too spicy and it’s served without sugar so you can adjust how sweet you like it. Overall, worth a visit.
