The Butcher's Arms — Restaurant in Oxford

We've not visited for years as the previous owners had cats in the pub and I'm highly allergic to cats plus we like 'dogs welcome ' pubs. It was an early Sunday evening visit with quite a few people drinking with dogs so a good sign as far as we're concerned. Guinness was very good and service was excellent. Usual Oxford price but higher than pubs directly in Headington. Nice private garden. We didn't eat as there was no service. There's live music planned for next Saturday so we'll probably try them again. All in all, it's nice to have another choice of pub in Headington in...

Great place, very friendly owners. Small but good range of drinks, something for everyone for sure. I've had food from there before and it's good, can be on the smaller side if you eat a lot. During covid when the kitchen wasn't open they let us order food whilst we sat outside and drank. They run quizzes during normal non-covid times and overall would recommend, it's not really a bustling student pub, it's a proper local and that's a good thing. There is a cat, you might want to stroke it but it might not always want to be stroked...

Fantastic pub, great food and the staff were fabulous.

One of my brothers has been in the local hospital for months and is now using a wheelchair. The family visit in rotation but wanted to meet together and take him out to lunch.

It's a fantastic small and friendly local pub. The staff were really accommodating and helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was high quality and reasonably priced and very prompt service.
