Skipper’s Fish & Chips | Reading — Restaurant in Reading

We tried this chippy today as it's been taken over by new owners and re-named as the previous owner of this chip shop was terrible (originally Deep blue) The first thing I always look for is how clean everything is and I can't complain, it was spotless from the front which is a massive improvement on the past visit there when it was deep blue. Chips were fresh and tasty and the battered sausage we had was perfect, not greasy at all and also freshly cooked. The young lady that served us was lovely and was also clean and tidy. Also, the portions were massive! Will definitely go back mow we know...

What an absolute delight!

I’ve lived in and around Reading for three years and have been disappointed with fish and chips from other takeaways. As a northern lad I’m used to Whitby fresh fish!

The food here is simply delicious and the next best thing to real side side fish and chips 😋 it really does take a lot to please me and this is it. My honest review is 9.7/10 - make a beach outside and a couple of deck chairs and I’ll give you 10/10.

Everything was incredible! The young lady who served us was ever so friendly, the fish was made to order and the batter was ever so light & crispy and the cod fish had no skin, the portion was MASSIVE! They served the fried fish in a separate box…separately from the portion of chips. We ordered a regular cod and a regular portion of chips and was enough to feed two adults!

Would definitely come back again! Much better than the previous Deep Blue fish...
