Exceptionally Rude and Nasty Waitress!!! I booked a table for 9 people (including 2 children) to celebrate my sister and her children’s visit to the UK. All the adults had the “eat as much as you like” menu, and the children chose from the A La Carte menu. The waitress upon clearing the main course verbally attacked my 11 year old nephew for finishing what was left in the rice bowl from the adults meal, telling him he couldn’t eat anything from the adults plates. She then proceeded to argue with the table. When dessert orders were taken, most of the adults didn’t want either of the options, which were a scoop of vanilla ice cream or tinned lychees. When the children said they would like ice cream, the waitress again verbally attacked them saying “no you can’t have ice cream from the adults, you on a la carte”. The manager then stepped in trying to diffuse the situation, telling us it was okay for the children to have a scoop of ice cream. However the managers attempt at reprimanding the vile waitress only seemed to be a friendly smiling exchange. Perhaps they are husband and wife? Disgusting, embarrassing experience, and in front of my guests!! The manager needs to grow a pair, and give that nasty piece of work her P45!! I lived in Banstead for 12 years in the past, and have been to this restaurant before. I will never again step inside their doors!! I am also qualified and trained in Hotel Management, and have never experienced such appalling customer service. Stay away unless you want to be made feel very uncomfortable and belittled in front of your guests!! After paying a bill of over £250, I wouldn’t have said it was a cheap evening (One bottle of wine...
Read moreI visited with my grown up daughter on a Saturday night, the place was quite busy but staff quite friendly albeit a bit stern-looking. We both ordered the 'all you can eat' menu. The starters were nice and varied but as we got to choose the main courses it became clear theres not a lot of variety in the choices available, and even less so for my daughter who is a vegetarian: So, among the choices there is 'sizzling' beef or chicken or lamb with 'ginger and onion', and 'sweet and sour' beef or chicken or lamb - just the same 'sauce' with a different meat etc etc. Not very exciting!! Note: Best to 'stock up' at the outset with loads of the starters as this has the best selection and is defo the best quality part of the menu!! We felt that as we progressed through the meel they were 'hurrying us up to leave' even though no one was waiting for our table and they defo were not going to let us have 'seconds' of the very bland choice of desserts (a small blob of ice cream or 3 lychees!). The 'all you can eat' menu costs £24.50 per head and a pint of beer costs £6.50 all plus 10% service charge SO nearly £77 for our meal which seemed very expensive for what was only an average quality meal. We wont...
