Just been into Chai and it was not far short of chaos and it wasn’t even their busiest time. There were lots of staff and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. After a few minutes wait, a table was pointed out to us and we were told to sit down and promised a menu which didn’t materialise. Five minutes later we were asked for our order but said we hadn't been given a menu yet. About 7-8 minutes later a waitress asked if we were ok so we went to place the order and were then told that we had to go to the counter to order it. Why when there are so many staff do you have to order at the desk? And to make it worse you pay at the same ordering point which causes a bottleneck. We didn’t order any food in the end we just had a coffee which when served was spilt all over the cup handle and into the saucer. For a venue that has obviously spent a lot of time and money on its decor, this becomes invisible because of the poor service. We will not be returning...
Read moreI visited here with a friend as she recommended it- hence out of politeness I didn’t complain but even she was considering removing the service charge- service was incredibly slow and despite there being around 8 staff members, they ignored us repeatedly. After waiting 35 minutes- we approached the counter for someone to place our order. We were told food would take 25-30 mins, and it did. Our food arrived at different times. My chicken Caesar salad was incredibly bland and tasteless, no seasoning on the chicken, for £13 I seriously regretted my choice. My ‘dirty chai latte’ tasted like pond water, I only drank it because I was so thirsty as we had waited so long for service! I was so disappointed as the appearance of the cafe promised so much, however it has a serious case of style over substance. I really want to support independent businesses but they really need to improve every aspect of their service and I won’t be recommending...
Read moreMy friend has just moved to Banstead and been using the normal coffee houses of Costa and Cafe Nerro, which are nice in Banstead , but today when i visited we fancied a change and liked the look of this place and went in. It's a very nice independent Coffee House and we were greeted by a warm welcome by the staff and Owner. We only drank Coffee but the Food looked really nice. The Coffee was v good (that i can vouch for) . Prices were reasonable. My friend liked it so much that he stated "this will be his new haunt". If you want a friiendly environment and a coffee house away from the normal chains and nice friendly staff this is it. Situated opposite Waitrose you can treat yourself here before or after your shopping .The Coffee as i said was very nice (i had Cappuccino and...
