McDonald's — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

Cold food, long wait times and rude poorly trained staff with very limited social distancing measures in place which is truly shocking given that we are in the middle of a pandemic.

A large que of Deliveroo drivers waiting outside to front door to collect online orders. I joined the que, then got ushered through to the front as apparently the que was for drivers only. Set foot inside the restaurant to be told I cannot come in and must wait outside again contradictory to what I had been told.

Eventually made it inside and placed my order using the ordering kiosk. The restaurant was cordoned off due to covid and was taken up massively by Deliveroo drivers waiting for food and I could only count 3 'walk' in customers.

The member of staff at the front door had no clue as to what he was doing and was very unclear and randomly just telling me to move around which caused more confusion as to where to wait.

Waited around 10 mins for a latte' and an apple pie.

Both to which were stone cold.

No apologies from the staff for the delay.

A Truly shocking experience at a restaurant where it seems that Deliveroo drivers and online orders are put before 'Walk in'...

It's McDonald's. I have little to say.

The food was great. The chips were some of the best I have ever had.

In terms of service, I have little to complain about. I ordered a less popular menu item, therefore extending the wait for my food, as popular items (such as the "Big Mac") are usually pre-prepared, like in most fast food restaurants. I still think they could have been a little quicker, especially since I didn't experience rush hour during my visit. Other than that, I have nothing to complain about.

Let's move on to the atmosphere. I sat upstairs, so I may have experienced this restaurant differently to others. There are various works of street art embedded into the wallpaper. As for the cleanliness, it's what you would expect from McDonald's (e.g. litter, stains, etc), which is not a problem at all, as working in fast food is incredibly difficult. I honestly didn't notice anything wrong with the environment, and I felt comfortable whilst eating my food. Noise levels were average for a restaurant, although I was visiting outside of peak times.

Final verdict: This McDonald's is acceptable. Overall, it feels like your typical McDonald's. Visit time:...

So most the time I come to this McDonald’s in redhill it’s late at night and you get a lot of difficult customers. Richard, who I believe is a manager, has handled some situations in the most professional, strong, and empathetic ways. I have worked in customer service for almost a decade, but I’ve learnt more from witnessing him at work than I have in all my experience. He doesn’t take any shit from anyone, but is also not rude to anything. I am quite a large guy, so feel comfortable standing up to difficult customers in my profession. Idk how strong Richard is but he’s not a particularly large man, but he stands with the most admirable confidence. It’s not just once I’ve seen this, but countless times - he deserves recognition, if not a pay rise.
