I'd give it 0 stars if it weren't for the very friendly waitress we had who had been called in to work last minute. TLDR: Waited 3 hours to get an inedible pizza stuck to the box with no cheese on it and no dough.
Our table was booked for 7pm and it was busy. I get that. We were seated and told it'd be an hours wait for food which we also said was fine. An hour and a half later, we were told no one had proofed the dough so we had to wait longer for them to entirely remake the dough, and their chef had stormed out. After 2 and a half hours of waiting, we were one of only 2 tables waiting to be served. We weren't offered a snack, a drink, or anything, and we even were fine with that and moved on from it. When it hit 10pm, the other table that was waiting had received their starters and even their mains and we hadn't even gotten a single starter, snack or drink, and were the very last table left in the restaurant. Our pizza finally arrived around 10:15pm, and we had asked for ours in takeaway boxes because it was extremely late. When we to home, we opened it up so see that there was absolutely no cheese on it, and the base was so thin, there basically wasn't any and it was just tomato sauce spread on a cardboard box with a pile of half cooked chicken piled in the middle. The only possibly edible part that wasn't stuck to the cardboard box was the crust that seemed to be the only dough there. Here are images that show our one decent pizza (still burnt black on the bottom) and out other "pizza". You can see in one of the pictures where we tried to slice it, and we found out we were just slicing the cardboard. After over a 3 hour wait and I receive an inedible pizza with no compensation? We were reasonable and polite about the wait, but that feels like taking the piss. I go to pizza express a lot for special meals out and I have never been so so so let down.
Worst dining experience.
Thank you for the friendly waiting...
Read moreAt first, when walking in, the atmosphere substantially captivated me. The pearl-white design was very modern and I felt like I was in a palace! When I walked in with my friends we all obtained a feeling that we’d be very satisfied with the food and the service. And we were right! Usually in some restaurants, we may need to signal to a waiter to come serve us, but the person serving us came to seek for our preference of food as quick as possible. Not only that, the wait for the food was not long and we can also ensure that our pizza is made well since it is an open kitchen (this unique idea was very nice to observe). We decided to get one pizza because we were not very hungry. The food was very palatable and we were all very excited when we dug into the delicious pizza. After we finished eating the pizza, it was time to pay and we were going to split the bill amongst ourselves. Despite each of us paying a shorter amount now, the waiter still offered us an idea. This was rather unexpected but very helpful. He told us that if we downloaded the app we could get the pizza for half-price! We then followed the instructions and we all just paid a few pounds. This moment really captured my eye since I was not expecting this extraordinary service. They had the choice to just let us pay but instead, they made it a better and beneficial experience, encapsulating their dedication to ensure that we have an unforgettable experience . I would recommend this to everyone because it is very family friendly and this restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy and have an excellent time through the world...
Read moreSadly have to give this branch I didn’t even eat at 1 star and would go lower if I could. I’m not one to write negative reviews but I think customer service is important for any establishment. Me and my siblings went out for a lovely day in Reigate and fancied a birthday meal after. Sadly the Redhill pizza express seemed extremely busy and loud so we drove out of our way and paid for more parking in Reigate as my brother really wanted Pizza Express. This branch seemed more relaxed and wasn’t busy at all. I politely asked a lady if we needed to book (I didn’t request a table I just asked) she turned to who I assume was the manager and asked him and he was extremely blunt and very defensively with his hands up said “I’ve got no tables for an hour!) no apology just responded as if I was arguing for a table when all I did was ask. Instantly we walked out. We all found it rude. It was the first we’d ever been there. First impressions really matter. Anyway, we walked down to Wagamama and couldn’t believe how brilliant each member of staff were. We were greeted with a big smile, welcoming, even when walking out, about 4 members of staff smiled and said bye to us. We literally compared our experience and couldn’t believe it. Pizza express sadly ruined our mood but Wagamama lifted...
