Extremely rude landlord when I visited on Sunday. I went to the bar and asked if I could put my (brand new and clean) push bike somewhere while I had a drink/bite and watched the football. Before I could even finish the request, he had already asked disparagingly "really?", before serving someone else.
He finally said he would meet me out the back of the pub in a minute. I waited outside for ten minutes, missing the game, and finally left, realising he wasn't going to bother. If you are reading this, I highly recommend treating potential customers with a lot more respect and kindness, having worked in pubs and bars myself for years. Lovely open fire, they had mulled wine on the go as a seasonal treat, but the bar generally has a great selection of drinks! Staff were all friendly and efficient as it was really busy, but we weren't waiting long! The food was so nice! I've eaten there a few times and it's full of flavour! Read moreGuessing Pub Relations is actually Danny then, but problem I've found is that whenever I've visited in the evening, the male bar staff are drunk and overly familiar. Used to be great, food is still OK, and a good pub for football, with some very friendly locals.
Less so now with the guys running it, being asked six times in ten minutes if I'm having a good night by a drunken barman, and telling me I've stolen his seat twice in the same time frame put me off going...
