Really disappointed with the attitude of the manager/landlady today. Visited the pub yesterday with friends for lunch and came back again today for lunch with my mum and sister as had enjoyed our meal so much. My sister had the veggie platter and found a long blonde hair in her salad amongst the dressing and lettuce (we are brunettes). My sister didn't want to complain and put the hair on a napkin but then found another blonde hair. We called one of the girls serving us over to complain but in the meantime the hair had been taken when the table was cleared. The member of staff was very apologetic and went to speak to the manager who told her to tell us that without "evidence" there was nothing they would do and that the "chefs wear hats" which is completely irrelevant as the hair did not belong to us and our plates had been taken away so the "evidence" removed. Not once did the manager come over. She left her staff to deal with it and the girls were both clearly feeling uncomfortable with the situation as it was clear we were being indirectly accused of planting hairs in the food. An absolute joke. We then sat at our tables waiting for someone to come over to us. When they didn't we went to the bar to pay. Again one of the girls asked the manager what she should do about the food and the manager stood directly in front of us without once making eye contact and said "Nothing". I have NEVER encountered such a rude, arrogant landlady who quite clearly does not have CUSTOMER SERVICE at the forefront of her mind. Even to explain to us why NOTHING was being done would have been more respectable than blatantly ignoring your customers who have made a complaint. We are all absolutely disgusted. This review in no way reflects the service provided by the two girls serving us who were kind, understanding and as I said before felt really uncomfortable. The landlady has let her own pub down and we will not be returning any time soon. Maybe some retraining in manners...
Read moreTerrible. Possibly the worst service I have ever had. Chipotle advertised on menu but you actually get sweet chilli sauce. Food arrives whenever staff can be bothered. First mains arrived and 17 minutes until last mains arrived, by which time first ones had been finished. Staff in kitchen can be heard shouting F@#* off to each other. Not what family diners need to hear. Flies constantly flying around. Fruit flies, so many of them. Very iff putting for a restaurant. Half the table cleared after mains then no staff could be bothered to continue clearing. After half an hour still no service, I had to go looking to ask if they could be bothered. No one asked if we wanted desserts or coffees etc so we got the bill. We questioned if they were going to ask they didnt seem interested at all. Highly recommend avoiding. Suggest a thorough clean as the flies suggest rotten food and filth. Seemed as if the adults had a night off and the children were playing at...
Read moreSpecifically chose the Farmhouse for Sunday family roast dinner for five. Table booked for 18:30. Shown to table, drinks ordered, handed Sunday menu with the comment "Sorry but have run out of roasts". We were therefore left with a rather paltry and sad looking remnants of a Sunday menu. Enquired if there was another menu as the Sunday menu had lost its key items. "Sorry no we only have the Sunday menu today". So 2 x Fish and chips, 2 x burger and a rack of pork later (which would have been acceptable when not specifically going for a traditional roast dinner) and a bill of nearly £100 we left rather disgruntled by the whole experience. Never again and...
