Second visit to this above average eaterie in the last month today. Buoyed by the quality of the fayre previously, we were pleased to again find fresh ingredients used with imagination, flair, and skill. Whether it's basic fayre or, specials or, the dishes with a quirky "house" take, enjoyed all so far. Sits above average all day breakfast cafes, (although they only just ran out of sausages just after 2pm today), just for the quality and variety on offer. Then add the individual decor, friendly attitude, efficient service, and willingness to cater for customers with a soft palate. Worthy of shortlisting and seeking out when in Clitheroe. Central location. Priced above average for all the quality on offer. Full at 1.45pm today and half-full when we left 40 mins later. Have targeted the "to die for" cheeseboard option at £8.95 for our next visit. From memory:- crumbly Lancashire, Wensleydale with fruit(can't remember which), Stilton, crackers and a Cheese Scone (homemade...
Read moreWe went inside of this cafe and we greeted by lovely staff and as me and my daughter have a gluten free diet we asked if they cater for gluten free and we were told yes. Once sitting my daughter asked for a Gluten free toastie and the lady who served us said the bread is gluten free but the toasties machine is shared, my daughter decided to only have chips as she does get quite alot of pains from gluten. ( if you are very Intolerant or have coeliac disease I wouldn't eat her unfortunately as it is a shared environmentwith gluten products). We had 2 paninis with ham and cheese, one gluten free tuna mayo sandwich, 3 portions of fries and 4 cans and it came to £39.95 which I feel is alot for what we received. The food was okay and kept us going but unfortunately we wouldn't go back due to the...
Read moreI'm not sure that my words can do this place justice. I'll try to explain. If your soul harks for a time gone by surrounded by people who remind you of a place where the world was slower, classier, respectful, kids, mums, dads, Nanas and Grandpa's sharing a milkshake and a scone, then this is the place for you. Stunning, quirky, traditional cafe, with a varied menu of butties, pies, baked tatties, cakes and more. We both had the cheese and onion pie, chips and mine was with beans. OMG. Probably the best cheese and onion pie I've ever had. Light, beautiful browned pastry and a filling of cheese without the usual potato padding. A taste sensation. Washed down with a strawberry milkshake that took me back to my childhood. Can't wait to go...
