What a shame! We waited such a long time for the Bistro to re-open. However, we were so disappointed on Saturday evening. The revised table layout felt strange to us. Sitting at a table for 2 next to a group of wedding guests, felt like we were intruding on the wedding. The food was nice, but nothing special. The staff were very polite, but minimalist in their service. I guess this is summed up best with the photo of the bottle of red wine just placed on the table..... since when do you have to open your own bottle of wine at a nice restaurant! I wouldn't put folks off dining here, but I doubt we will be rushing back any time soon..... like I said....what a shame!

We visited here for lunch. It was very good, the food was inventive and prepared very well. The staff were good, without being intrusive. There was a wedding party in the bar area, but the space is so epic, it wasn’t a problem at all. The setting, in part of the old mill was stunning. Well worth a visit, and to travel to. The bistro is part of the larger mill redevelopment, which is also worth checking out.

Fabulous venue for drinks and dinner. Surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening but has only recently re-opened after Covid. Menu wasn't over complex but the dishes were excellent and well priced as was the bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Great staff eager to please. Really wouldn't be out of place in Manchester.....but don't tell everyone!

Good food but disappointed by the atmosphere and poor service, overall not worth the price paid.

Upon arrival there was a wedding function in the bar area which was very noisy and crowded. We waited around 5 minutes to be seated even though the restaurant side of the venue was empty. We was informed the wedding party were due to leave shortly but this continued for the majority of our meal, at least an hour, and so the atmosphere was very noisy. Once the food was brought out we were asked whether we would like anything else (thinking they would only ask this once all the food was brought out) my wife reminded them about her side she had ordered, in which a lead waitress replied by saying I have only got two hands and can’t carry everything out at once. They had also got one of our orders wrong but we didn’t bother to point this out. The food was well cooked however the atmosphere and the service we was provided with let...

We visited on a very busy Friday . The restaurant was very quiet which we thought was a bad sign but decided to give it a try anyway. We had the set lunch menu. The soup was very good and the fish and chips also was cooked well and presentation good. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which I have to say was excellent. However, the whole experience was let down by a rather peculiar and sad ambience in the dining hall. It wasn’t helped by the total lack of enthusiasm on the part of the serving staff , one of whom , an Italian chap , had obviously had a personality bypass at birth. When we had finished our mains we had to wait some time for service as the waiters were busy discussing their private lives and the schedule for the next shifts. I wouldn’t go back and it’s a pity that just a lovely space and good food is let down by very poor management and couldn’t care...

We went to the Bar & Grill on Saturday the 25th November, one of our party is a vegetarian, the menu is limiting to the point that our vegetarian could only have a starter. When my meal arrived part of the order was missing, I informed the waiter of the missing part of my meal and he was apologetic and said that he would get the missing part right away, when the missing portions arrived it was inedible....under cooked, we are talking about onion rings, how do you under cook onion rings and why were they presented to me in that state, the waiter / cook would not have accepted them in that condition, why was I expected to ? Over priced for the quality of food. Don't bother there are better places to eat...
