Well, where do I start? We knew Holmes Mill would be the venue for us the minute we stepped through the door to view it. Everything about the place reflected our personalities and style, it was just up our street. We got married on 7.4.18, and was just so excited to see how things would unfold on our special day. All the way from the start, the events coordinators communicated so effectively and made sure every single aspect was discussed and catered for. My partner is a wedding photographer and is at various wedding venues most weekends, but we can honestly say the service that Holmes Mill provides is second to none. We had nothing but compliments about how unique, quirky, friendly and relaxed HM was. We really feel it is a cut above the rest. On the day, we cannot fault any aspect. The staff were out of this world. Stacey, Gemma and Emma especially were just outstanding, but the younger casual staff were also excellent. The food was also incredible, the chefs catered for many dietary requirements and the guests were more than happy. We were apprehensive about using the Engine Room after the ceremony as it was very close to the visiting public. I can truly say we were in such a bubble with our friends and family we genuinely did not notice the public there! Any interaction we did have with members of the public were so positive and friendly and it was kind of nice to be made a fuss of! I loved the flexibility HM provided. Nothing was ruled out, we were allowed to be as creative as we wished with the room dressing. We were bowled over with how amazing the room looked when we entered for the first time. It was really something special. From morning until night, we were treated like royalty and made to feel so special. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to make sure we were happy and I am so grateful for this. We had the most unbelievable day, and at the risk of sounding cliché, it truly was the best day of our lives. The beauty of it is that we can now visit whenever we like and revisit all the treasured memories. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much. Karly and Matt Burgess

The Holmes Mill complex comprising hotel, restaurant, beer hall, shops etc is well worth a visit. Indeed, visitors to Clitheroe should make the complex a must on their itinerary. Spent a night in the hotel and dined in the bistro. Excellent in every respect. Well appointed hotel room, with every expected facility. Bistro has an extensive menu and the quality of food matches the service and decor. Exceptional cocktails and fine wine list. Relaxing bar area for pre and post prandial drinks prepared by attentive and knowledgeable bar staff. Also visited the beer hall and shops which are equally stunning. The complex is still being developed and all work appears to be of the highest standard, making the most of the features from the original Holmes Mill. I thoroughly recommend and look forward to visiting many more times. A veritable gem! (If there is a criticism - and be forewarned - car parking is limited to 3 hours, which can complicate an overnight stay.)

Visited twice as we did last year when in the area. Great place with brewery/Bar, Cinema, Food Hall & Cafe. Just the sort of food I like, platters, small plates, etc. Lovely wine & Bowland lager was very nice. Coffee & cakes excellent. Can recommend the fishmongers platter, ploughman's & charcuterie ones too. Chardonnay was perfect. Burger is simple & not two feet high! Just excellent beef, tomato & lettuce with a spicy sauce on the side. You can actually cut it in half & eat it in a ladylike manner! Cakes delicious & flat whites excellent Staff do let it down a bit. We sat on stools at the counter both times & they are in their own little world, walking past without glancing up to see if you need anything. However, I will keep going when I get the opportunity, as it is so lovely. Good cheese counter in food hall. Portuguese tarts are divine Parking is busy as I guess people park there to go to the cinema. I was fortunate both times to get the last space

Holmes Mill, nestled in the heart of Clitheroe, Lancashire, is truly a hidden gem for couples seeking a wedding venue that beautifully combines rich heritage with modern luxury. Once a thriving textile mill, it has been lovingly restored to retain its industrial character while offering contemporary touches that create a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. As a local wedding supplier based in Blackburn, I specialize in creating beautiful, bespoke artificial bouquets that will last as a timeless reminder of your special day. If you’re planning your dream wedding at Holmes Mill, I would be honoured to discuss how my floral designs can complement the venue’s unique style and ensure your bouquet remains a lasting keepsake.
