Bay of Bengal — Restaurant in Rochdale

Met some friends who live near by. Sat down and was quickly asked what drinks we required. Gave us the menu and suggested a few items from there range. Came back and took our orders. They all came quickly and looked delicious. Half way through our meal we had decided some of us had made better choices than others. Mine was great fresh, spicy and tasted really good. My good lady said hers wasn't very nice and the chicken a bit dry. Our friends said the same one dish very tasty, nicely spiced and tasted really fine. But the other didn't taste nice. Food quality faultless!. The menu has changed completely from our last visit, less variety looks more like a typical straight forward Indian menu😕 yet, we rate this as one of two restaurants we're happy to visit in the area. Where we live outside of Leeds, we're offered nothing of an equivalent. Because I live abroad I was really looking forward to revisiting the Bay of Bengal but unfortunately the experience did not live upto expectations. We were squeezed onto a table leaving not enough room to put dishes on the table. Service was slow and ill informed. One of our party ordered a Balti, and a Jalfrezi was bought out. When the correct dish was eventually bought out, it in no way resembled a Balti, either in sight or flavour - it bordered on inedible.
