The Red Lion — Restaurant in Rochdale

Used to be a farmhouse in 1800s. Possibly last time it was decorated! But somehow this just adds to the character of the place. We were made very welcome by staff and customers alike. First return since pre COVID. The premises have been impressively extended which is a really positive move. Excellent service and product range. Together with my cycling chum we enjoyed tea and coffee outside in the we'll set out picnic table area with a couple of slices of delicious apricot tea bread. A nice enough place, and nice to see that they have Heineken 0.0 on draught (only the second place so far) albeit the Fosters glass was offensive even if I don’t drink lol

Second time of visiting now, and have a higher opinion of the place. Quite peaceful on a Monday evening, and being served Heineken 0.0 in a Heineken glass is way less offensive than being served it in a Fosters glass as whilst I don’t drink… I still don’t want to be associated...
