International Chippy — Restaurant in Rochdale

Been going here for years eventhough ive moved to bham, cant fault the food, but i can fault them for not picking up the phone.. i had to do something up north an when i was on my way back i tried phoning them again and again repeatedly for about 15-20 mins so they can get my order ready for when im there because they themselves said phone your order through if you are going to be some time and this time they didnt bother picking up.. so got there after 20 min only to find there was a big Que there an i thought to myself i am not standing half an hour there not with my bad feet..if they would have picked up the phone wouldnt of had to stand there so i didnt bother with them..about 4 month before this i was there order food an ordered a few seperate chicken legs when i got back to my hotel they wa stone cold, basically they hadnt even bothered to microwave them an make them hot, this place loosing its good reputation and fast, the uncles who are also brothers who ran it before never missed a beat always on top of their game, these new generation are the ones who are going to mess this chippy up and run it to the ground..mark my words. This chippy "Harveys" is a hidden gem. The donner kebeb (if your lucky to get it) which runs out by around 2pm is amazing, handmade but a bit on the greasy side, but simply the best. You can taste the fine spices within each succulent slice. This Chippy's Quality and service has been consistent for the last 40+ years. Service=mega slow but worth the damn wait. Harveys are "untouchable" with their unique imlee sauce, samosas. Their chicken and chips is one of a kind, pakoras are amazing. Simply a very small menu with quality products. One funny thing is if u want a chip muffin special your gunna get it with ketchup...That's the special part yup Harveys need to up their menu but i doubt that's gunna happen anytime soon. They need an award for being so slow and misreable that nobody is bothered by it now lol. "HAAN VEY BOY KEY LEYNAY" That means you want donber and chips and your gunna walk out with exactly what you didnt want.

Harveys deserve a lifetime achievement award and trust me im getting one made for them very soon.

There is a reason why I don’t eat junk food and this is it: the food is soooooo goooooooood! I mean you can’t stop! This place is an actual Institution in Rochdale! Going for the first time: chicken and chips/ chips and chutney. Fancy changin things up go for the samosa and chips. Sometimes I go in just for Imilee chutney (tamarind) omg! I am not lying when I say this sauce makes everything -and I mean everything-, better. You could eat it on broccoli and it would taste amazing. Their samosas are ok too- I’ve recently seen a bit of a price hike! Not so cool but if you craving a fast food hit then this is it. The biggest downfall I would say is the wait time. You be in a line with 1 uncle infront of you and he is ordering for like 20 people. I do not lie! Or in the case of the evenings it gets super busy Ok one last thing- they need a card machine! It is not cool when you are scrabbling around in your car looking for change! I would go everyday if they took...
