Staff were polite and assured us that the food would be with us in 15minutes. We were told the store was busy ( not that this is an excuse for poor service).

Staff were polite. I was told the food would be with us in 10 minutes. The food took a further 17 minutes to arrive. We were offered £15 off our next order.
Arrival: 19:20
Delivery driver was polite. An item was missing from the order. The food was stone cold. The food was eaten out of pure hunger and inability to wait any longer for food.
Third call 19:28
Staff were polite and offered to send the order again. Having already waited a long time and having a young child who was hungry I declined this offer. I only requested the dessert that we hadn’t received be sent again. I requested a refund and was told the only way to obtain this would be by sending an email.
Summary:
Staff were the only positive quality about the experience. The staff were apologetic but unable to offer much in the way of compensation. I query their training given the fact that were unable to find my order on the third call and left me on hold in silence for a 3-4 minutes. Then they were unable to facilitate a refund on the phone and I as a customer who had already had a negative experience had to go to extra effort to receive compensation. I believe the food would have been satisfactory had it arrived at a hot temperature.
The only thing that could encourage me to try the fat pizza again would be a full refund. The desert didn't turn up until 2100.

Read moreSo, this afternoon I ordered one BBQ Fat Alone deal and an extra large meat feast. The deal came with coleslaw and curly fries and two drinks. I put the order in, around 4pm for a 6pm delivery including extra mushrooms and BBQ sauce. The driver rang me at 6:17 and said he was five minutes away and the delivery turned up at 6:25. This was after I had been told that it was on it's way at 6pm for a seven minute journey) and there was no coleslaw with the order, very very little amount of BBQ sauce, about three pieces of mushroom and three halves of meatballs. And the fries were soft and squidgy. My partner is diabetic so had already taken her insulin around 5:45. The pizzas were very bland and I think they just use the cheapest cheese that you can get. It basically tasted like a very mild cheddar. I ate about a third of my pizza, because I was very hungry and my partner ate about the same, even though she had taken quite a bit of insulin, expecting the pizza to be as good as previous ones we had bought. I rang the shop after eating to enquire about the missing coleslaw and tell them about the food and they offered a £10 credit to use in the shop. As if I'm going to be using them again. I opened the fancy box and first thought I had the wrong burger. I couldn't believe I was being charged nearly £10 for what I was looking at. A word of advice. Putting a rubbish burger in a fancy box doesn't make it a good burger. It's window dressing and your customers see through it. All the food was lukewarm, if you can't deliver warm food then don't bother. I don't understand how you manage to make a burger with several different ingredients on it and it doesn't taste of anything. My burger had 3 pathetic little mushrooms on it. Businesses like The Fat Pizza in Rayleigh make me angry. Not only do they waste your time and your money, but they take business away from good operators who take pride in what they do and who produce a good, consistent product.
