in response to the two reviews below: i was actually in the cafe when the incident described in the last two reviews happened. from what me and my friend could see, a table of 3 had been waiting for some time for a table to become available which ended up being the table the you sat on. i understand you were offered the table by the people leaving however the other group had been waiting for it. the waitress came over and politely asked if you wouldn’t mind moving over to the table of two that was next to it. i appreciate it wasn’t ideal and was tricky with crutches but equally it was awkward for her as 3 people had been waiting for the table you sat on. i don’t remember anyone being rude or aggressive as you put it. as far as i could see, she just politely asked if you could move over.
me and my friends discovered bonneys a few months ago and ever since have been coming back often for catch ups. staff are always attentive, service is great and the food is always delicious! it’s upsetting to see the reviews below as we’ve always had a lovely experience every time we...
Read moreWow, really appalled at this cafe. Walked in immediately felt uncomfortable. Went up too the counter were the girl at the counter with two French braids just stared at my partners face like he was an alien or she had never seen a black person before. She was sarcastic and smug and clearly has no customer service skills. We still proceeded to go and find a seat as we were hungry. I could feel eyes burning a hole in the back of my head, as I walked towards a table a different girl aggressively told us we can’t sit there. This made us incredibly uncomfortable as I felt as though they were just watching and targeting us as I believe if we were one of their regulars we wouldn’t have been spoken too like that . Don’t go here if you are not a regular and an ethnic minority, further down the road is a lovely, welcoming cafe. Go...
Read moreWe have been here three times now. The food is excellent. However, the service/atmosphere not so. This is purely because the staff are moaning and talking about each other all the time. It is not only unwarranted but very unprofessional. This went on and off (in between serving customers) for the whole time we were there. It’s been different staff as well, not just the same people. We’ve all done it, moaned about whomever. But….my boss would not be impressed if that was the service I provided in-front of a paying customer! If the staff put in the same amount of effort to chatting to the customers as they did about each other it would be a wonderful place. When we left we said “thank you” twice but the staff were so busy speaking to each other we never got...
