De La Peri Peri — Restaurant in Rother

We wanted to get breakfast and this one caught my eye. Usually a place that does multiple different cuisines are a red flag as it stated breakfast/burger/curry on the sign despite being called Coffee & Co.

In all fairness, the service was ok and interior and exterior decor looked modern and almost hipster. Sadly the coffee was average at best but food was satisfactory despite having cofee in the name.

I think the owner doesn’t quite know what the theme of the place is yet. I would not call this a coffee specialist place because the coffee is simply not up to scratch but if they called it something else then perhaps it wouldn’t seem so bad.

The furnishings inside could do with a bit more thought though. Random books with no real central theme although most are travelling related, fantastic beast book and few others looked like they were there just to fill the place. The iron man trophies looked very out of place and so did the kebab shop chiller for the cold drinks at the back.

In all, I would say it’s one of the better place to eat but would not come specifically for coffee. Cannot comment on the curry or burger but I would think perhaps concentrating on doing one cuisine may bode well.

Late review- I got a deal that was 2 burgers for £10 on Uber and me and my girlfriend both barely ate any of the burgers because the chicken smelt weird (like it was just going off) and tasted weird, definitely seemed like it had been frozen previously as well, been there twice and the first time we got a rice and chicken bowl thing. it didn’t taste bad but for £5.99 we expect at least more than one tiny piri r piri r strip cut up with the rice, also my gfs had a hair in it which I just took out and had hers and she had mine instead. After the weird tasting & smelling chicken burger I won’t be going again. I put 1 star for atmosphere because I didn’t eat in and also both times I collected it has been completely empty & when walking past it’s been empty or with only 1 person eating. I did try get refund on Uber but they just apologised and said they couldn’t give a refund for some reason I can’t...

Collected a take away. 2 items missing. I rang to be told they were to busy to deliver said items. So I went to get a refund and there was no money in the till even though I paid with cash. I had to wait 15mins for a refund. Bad service all round no apologies for what happened. Can't see this place lasting long. Other customers inside were being told there order was going to be 20mins after ordering 30mins before hand. They were not busy they had 4 customers inside plus me. Terrible service all round.
