Was searching for a nice place to have a fancy dinner on a weekend break, and this seemed to tick all the boxes. We managed to get an early booking, which was lucky as the place filled up quickly once we'd sat down. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, top quality service on par with the best restaurants I've eaten in. The menu wasn't huge, but everything on it looked (and smelled) absolutely delicious. Our mains and deserts were fantastic, and perfectly portioned. I started with a chicken liver parfait tart with orange, hazelnut and ginger. Incredible flavour balance. Stunning. My main was a lamb saddle, panko lamb belly, black garlic ketchup, jus with wild garlic oil and a side of creamy mash. Exceptional! Finally a glazed lime tart with raspberry sorbet. The mains were cooked excellently- easy to over cook duck and lamb, but they were delicious and extremely tender. The triple cooked rosemary potatoes were the best I've ever had- I won't be sharing mine next time!!!! The deserts were good too, although the tarte tatin was almost more one a syrup sponge.
