The Trattoria Deli — Restaurant in Rother

It was nice salami (even though I’ve never had bad - tasting salami,) and their tomato soup wasn’t ANY tomato soup, it was Italian style fresh n’ HOMEMADE tomato soup! ( … and roasted red pepper.) Their bread is bread, which I’m thankful for, (sourdough) and their bread comes with butter, which I’m thankful for as well.

You get the point, it’s nice.

Their spaghetti is homemade which is nice, (don’t worry it tasted amazing) and is covered with a lovely tomato purée, if the lovely spaghetti went before the purée, that is. The aubergine parmigiana is the best I have tasted. The roasted potatoes with rosemary a delight! Finally, the owner was really nice. No, it’s not that he TASTED nice, I mean that he was really sweet. Not that he TASTED sweet, I mea… Oh forget it…

Michele (Michael)is an absolute gentleman! We were sheltering from very high winds & to be honest, wasn't sure about having lunch or buying any food as we were staying nearby. Thank God we did! We had a beautiful beef stew, carrots and roast potatoes, Italian style! His (also freshly made) homemade tiramasu finished off lunch perfectly! We bought some excellent meals that would last a couple of days along with some treats and drinks! We were also made very welcome & thanked for our custom by a friend of Michael, who shook my hand too. I can't recommend it highly enough & happened to be good value for money too!!...

Good food all ok until I tried to return plastic trays on advice of the manager but wasn't allowed. After leaving it in the shop they did then accept it. If your going to send out that much plastic to customers you should have the option to return it too. I would like to support this business so will return if materials or policy is changed. I have changed my feedback and I'll put this down to an I'll informed staff member rather...
