I ordered from here on the 22nd of September, I was in two minds about leaving this review but after some time I came to the conclusion that all the hype behind this restaurant was false and I had to share my own experience. I'll start with the positives, the delivery was fast (might be Uber eats that should take this credit) and the side order of the corn dog was enjoyable if not a little sweet. The main reason I have given this a 1 star is for the burger which is is the staple of there business. The burger was over done, flavourless and was most definitely frozen before prepared. I'm am by no means a food critic but it is reality easy to compare the difference between fresh and frozen beef as the meat has a distinctive "frozen dry taste" to it, not to mention that the burger was well past over done. I tasted more of the oven it was cooked in then the meat itself. I also ordered the chicken burger for my partner which she said wasn't satisfactory for her at all. The main thing that bothers me is the price. I spent close to £40. For a business to charge that much in this area I would expect them to at least serve fresh ingredients. I did not request a refund for the order as this was myself mistake and as we say down where we live "you live and you learn" but that being said I felt that I should get my opinion across. I had high hopes for this place when it opened in Rugby but... Was yet again have been let down by the "hype" surrounding it. Also tried the dirty fries, wasn't a fan but didn't include as that was...
Read moreWe are very fond of the Leamington branch, and thought we'd pop over to Rugby tonight to see what the subsequent branch was like.
Just the same, but bigger, and lovely having two floors to enjoy.
Service was excellent. Friendly, inviting, and fun.
Decor and atmosphere, wonderful. The red and blue lighting theme is really nicely done, as is the video game theme that runs throughout.
The food... always a treat. Hedonistic gluttony at its finest. Our "typical" order is beefburger, a chicken burger, a corn dog, deep fried pickles and normal fries. Perfect for one normal eater and one fatty (me).
#6 this time- what a burger. Grab this one while you can, but you won't be disappointed with a #1 or a #25 from the normal menu. The #2 chicken burger- excellent as usual. It's always important to order the "base" burger at a gourmet burger joint, even if it's only once, just to see if they can make simple ingredients into something truly special. They can at Libertine. The corn dog is awesome- not stodgy, a surprising blend of sweet and savoury. The deep fried pickles are a unique favourite. They are disgustingly good. Fries- again, we think it's important to have the 'basics'. They get them so right. Perfectly crispy, great flavour.
All in all... it's exactly what makes the Leamington Libertine so special, but in a bigger venue.
Go and enjoy it. It's easily one of the best burger joints out there, if...
Read moreI consider myself somewhat of a burger connoisseur, having eaten considerably more than my fair share of them over the years!
I have to say that the standard of the burgers at Libertine continues to impress, and this latest visit with the good lady wife was no exception.
She went for a spicy buttermilk fried chicken burger and I had the more traditional beef with bone-marrow onions. Both were absolutely delicious and we helped them down with a side of fries and halloumi fries (the smoked chilli jam with these was incredible!).
We've tried most of the menu from here, and it's never disappointed so far, this visit being no exception.
Yes, it's not cheap, but for the price you do get a very high standard of food.
Although ordering for collection or delivery is fine, I'd recommend eating in, the service is friendly and informal and there's even Mario Kart on a Switch to play on while you wait!
We'll definitely be heading back...
