UMAI Pan Asian — Restaurant in Rugby

Umai simply blew off my expectations. The food was delicious, what an experience. Recently I have been more interested in Japanese and Korean quisine but as the norm for most british folk the supermarket sheves are about as far as we normally travel. So to find a new resturant on ones door step was simply to hard to miss. Oh wow, was I amazed. I ordered a selection of dishes. Tuna Nigiri Salmon/Octopus Sashimi Beef Gyudon Grilled Eel Tamaki All to take away as I was in the middle of a busy evening!

All the dishes were simply the best. With the Beef Gyudon being my favourite closely followed by the Grilled Eel Tamaki! If I could order this on repeat every week I would!

Go and give it a go, dont let the price scare you away, this little resturant deserves every penny.

My only add on - if it were possible to order fresh wasabi! - please Umai can you add this to your menu?

This is a fabulous little restaurant. We’ve been ordering take-out/delivery food from them for a year or so now and were delighted that they opened an eat-in place. Ate there last night and although the restaurant was full and had a huge table of asian people ( always a good sign!) we were served quickly with totally delicious food. I’ve worked a lot in Japan and Korea and I can safely say that Pan Umai is some of the best food from those countries that I’ve eaten in the Uk. If totally authentic, fresh, delicious food is your thing- book yourself a table asap! We had avocado hosomaki Unagi don (the fact they serve this always speaks for itself as it’s a very japanese thing and utterly yummy) Edamame Pumpkin korroke Jabchae All highly recommended Excellent...

We had an amazing experience at UMAI Pan Asian last night. We kept wanting to try it out (eat in or takeaway) and we called to ask if they had a table for two, they are usually fully booked on Fridays and Saturdays but we were lucky to get a table. They have an amazing selection of Korean and Japanese meals, very well presented and tasty! The waiters were very polite and helpful, good was served very hot and we didn't have to wait long even with the restaurant being completely full. Our only regret is that our stomachs weren't big enough to try other meals on their menus but we will definitely be back 🤤 (forgot to take photos, everything looked so good we were too...
