This place is still much as it has been for many decades. There's a few newer furnishings, but it's still got an old feel to it. It hasn't really kept up with other modernising pubs and drinks were a little pricier than other pubs, but by no means expensive. I had forgot about the two steps on the way to the toilets, and though driving and sober still managed to trip on both of them. Toilets were significantly below standard, stinking of urine doesn't encourage one to keep drinking there. The place was fairly busy though and this perhaps came down to the saving grace of a pleasant and attentive barmaid. Read moreI'm no beer expert, but we spent a good chunk of our evening drinking Birra Moretti's in the Webb Ellis nearby. When we arrived I was asked if Moretti in a Carlsberg glass was ok? "Sure" I said, no problem, I'm not a difficult man.
But these were definitely not three pints of Moretti. They were something else. Maybe Carlsberg? On moving on to the Lawrence Sheriff further down the road we were back on to proper Moretti's.
