I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at McDonaldâs in Rugby. As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment, but instead, I was penalized with a ÂŁ100 parking fine simply for being delayed by McDonaldâs own slow service.
I visited the restaurant with my family, purchased food, and parked in their car park as a legitimate customer. Due to delays in food preparationâbeyond my controlâI exceeded the 60-minute parking limit by 26 minutes. Despite providing proof of my purchase and appealing to both McDonaldâs and the parking contractor, I received no meaningful assistance.
The signage in the car park is poorly positioned and unclear, making it difficult for customers to fully understand the parking terms. McDonaldâs suggests that customers should speak to a manager if they think they might overstay, but this information isnât displayed anywhere. Itâs unrealistic to expect customers to predict delays caused by McDonaldâs own inefficiencies!
To make matters worse, McDonaldâs customer service completely washed their hands of the issue, stating they have no power to intervene, despite the fact that they employ the parking contractor and are responsible for the parking restrictions. This is a clear example of a company refusing to take accountability for its own policies and how they impact customers.
This entire experience has left me feeling frustrated, unheard, and unvalued as a customer. McDonaldâs claims to prioritize customer satisfaction, but their handling of this situation proves otherwise. I canât help but question whether they truly care about their customers or only about enforcing fines through a third-party contractor.
I will be thinking twice before visiting McDonaldâs again. I urge others to be cautious when parking in their car parks, as you may find yourself unfairly...

On one occasion they took 15 mins to bring my order to me after asking me to wait in one of the drive through bays. I had to go inside to find out where my order is and even then they missed one item of my order. I did a drive through this morning, got my lattes at the first window. Then was told to move forward to the second window. After seeing about 10 cars go past me and waiting 10 minutes I knocked the window as my breakfast order still hadn't come to me. A staff member came to the window to ask what was up and I told her I still haven't received my order. She called out to one of colleague's and came back to aks me what I had ordered. I told her my order and another 10 mins later she came back with my food. She apologised and said she has put in some extra hash browns. I checked the bag of food and everything was there on this occasion plus the extra hash browns. Not happy with their service unfortunately due the amount of time's they have messed my orders up. On one occasion I had to come back from home to McDonald's to pick up a missing item. Ever since then I always check what's been packed...
   Read moretwice in a row now we havent got all of our food delivered when ordering from everux way. the first time (despite being promised a refund THREE SEPARATE TIMES on half our order that just never turned up, and finding a short curly black hair in the food that actually did show up đ¤˘) we never got our ÂŁ20 back, so had to give up after 2 months of calling. the second, we recieved a 3 piece chicken instead of a five, and NONE of the vegetarian food we ordered which means i cannot eat, especially since the uber customer service has been on hold for about 20 minutes (âweâre sorry for the unusually long wait time, please stay on the lineâ blah blah blah). not to be a karen but with all the other times everux way havent got our orders right, they are just taking money and not delivering the orders at this point, weâve probably lost about ÂŁ50-ÂŁ60 in total, which with nowadays prices is a whole 4 person order đđđ so much for quick and reliable service đ
edit: we finally gave up calling uber and tried calling the restaurant itself, we called 5 times on two different phones and every time they hung up on us immediately after the call went through. appalling...
