I had vegan pancakes with a berry compote which was very yummy. The person I was with had a full English, it looked nicely cooked and apparently was pretty good. The green tea lacked flavour, it was basically a pot of warm water. One waitress was really nice and helpful (the one with cool piercings), the other was quite rude. I was asking about the contents of the food to make sure there was no dairy as I have an allergy, so I asked her what was in a biscuit and she just told me ‘it’s a biscuit’ and was quite off with me. Turns out it had butter, so I double checked my pancakes were completely dairy free (as no one seemed concerned about allergens) and the nice waitress confirmed, whilst the rude one said abruptly that ‘it’s clear on the menu’. I don’t think asking two questions is impolite of me, considering I have an allergy (and recently had anaphylactic shock). I would return for the pancakes, but will consider trying somewhere else because of the ambience the off-waitress created.

Visited Satchmo Corner for breakfast and was really impressed with the warm, inviting atmosphere and lovely surroundings – it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy a morning meal. I opted for the full English (minus mushrooms & black pudding), which was hearty and well-cooked, but I was a little disappointed there wasn’t an option to add or swap items – something I would have liked. I was also surprised it didn’t come with toast, though I may have missed this as an option when ordering. It would have been a nice addition. My partner went for the three egg omelette, and it was absolutely delicious – light, fluffy, and full of flavour. Definitely worth trying! Overall, the atmosphere and presentation make Satchmo Corner a place I’d happily visit again, and with just a couple more options on the breakfast menu, it would be spot on.

Great food, this place could be amazing if... -The lighting was more ambient rather than downlighters used. -Service could definitely be slicker, waiters and waitresses were very friendly and tried hard but a number of items were dropped and some training could help. - Some of the decor could be improved, the banquette cushions were thin and constantly fell off. Would be amazing if they were twice as thick studded and fitted cushions. - Could have done with a proper menu to start with rather than a laminated sheet. Menu was given later - More beer options rather than just two bottled lagers. Honestly nice place, great location, absolutely amazing food... just needs some finishing. We visited in the first month and definitely inproved. We'll come back in 6 months and see how it's progressing

A confusing place. Sold as quite upmarket but the lighting is way too bright and staff too frantic to give a luxury vibe. The opposite of intimate.

Our booking was not on the printed sheet despite arranging well in advance. Our table was missing some cutlery and glasses that had to be asked for.

Staff are really friendly but run about like headless chickens. Half the menu is not sold in the evening with no warning given until you try to order. The menus themselves are stained single pieces of paper. The cocktail menu has to be asked for. There’s only two to go around apparently, and one’s laminated like it’s some sort of kids’ birthday party; the other’s a black and white photocopy.

Our waiter seemed not to have opened a prosecco bottle before and I winced as he pointed the half-prised cork towards us. I had to intervene.

The menu is limited and not very coherent. It’s unclear what they’re going for, which maybe explains why it’s described as ‘international’. Really it’s just a selection of random dishes with no drinks pairings considered.

Portions were tiny. The staff know this because they urge you to order a side to make it an adequate meal. I’m all for being upsold but not to make it a bare minimum serving.

A side was nonetheless ordered but forgotten and a children’s meal was incorrect. No-one asked if everything we had ordered had arrived, or if we were enjoying the food.

The bill arrives as a piece of paper on its own, not in a holder like you might hope, with £20 overcharged that had to be quibbled.

We saw ourselves out with no goodbyes or pleasantries.

A lacklustre, low-end experience with rather...

Booked a table in advance. We were seated and then waited an extraordinary amount of time to place a drinks order. My partner had to get up from the table and get the attention of the waiting staff. We placed our order and received our starters. My scallops were so salty that I could not finish my starter. This was conveyed to the waiting staff and the manager. Our mains arrived with sides that were not as requested. The waitress returned to the table with my side order that was not as requested and said, " the chef said have this and he will send another side order". At this point I called the manager over again. We questioned " what if somebody had an allergy?", and the manager offered no response. Both of our mains were so salty, just like my starter, that neither my partner or myself could finish our mains. We complained to the waiting staff and requested to speak to the mamger again. He did not return to our table. The waitress said that other customers also complained about salty food and blamed the Greek chef/s, although what the nationally has to do with it I don't know. We did not pay for the food that we did not eat due to it being inedible. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was diabolical food and diabolical service. I went to a local Chinese takeaway on the way home which was far superior to the food we were served...

Food is stunning but I'm afraid to say that front of house was farsical from beginning to end. We had a birthday dinner reservation which began with the waitress ushering us over to our table with a point of the finger rather than taking us there. When at the table we were not given menus so waited about 8 or so minutes to be acknowledged. Many members of staff passed us and saw to nearby tables but still no one came to offer us a dining menu. Eventually the waitress asked us what we would like and we had tomsay we weren't given menus so we're not sure yet. She quickly got us two laminated menus then proceeded to ask us straight away what we wanted with no time left to look at them. For the rest of the night many more things happened that made us chuckle but didn't ruin our night. Can't attribute it to one member of staff since so many came by our table but this is the issue. Many staff including what looked like the managed aimlessly wandering around. No consistency. Front of house training much needed as you are letting the chefs down. You have the potential of a good restaurant but front of...
