Visited this establishment due to it being vegetarian. On arriving we seated ourselves without being greeted, one person who later on was found to be the manager was sitting at a table on his laptop, a very young boy who possibly is not old enough to be behind the bar was doing something behind the bar. After several minutes of being seated the young boy came over and handed us the menus, he returned back only after we called him over to take our order. On placing the order he visited the back of the restaurant 3 times to confirm answers for questions we asked about the offerings in the menu. We received our food fairly quickly after completing the order process. The food that arrived (2 dishes) Masala Dosa and Chole Bhatoora. The Bhatoora that arrived looked impressive as it was over sized yet the Chole that came with it were almost non existent, the portion size was smaller than a kids meal portion in the majority of eating places. The same can also be said for the masala dosa which really should be renamed for this establishment to do as masala as the dosa was oversized as you would expect in any dosa serving establishment however the masala inside this dosa was the 2 table spoons at the most. When I asked to speak to the manager, the chap that was on his laptop when we entered that totally ignored us and anyone else that came through the ring door came over, I asked about the proportions of the dishes….. his reply was a simple shrug of his shoulders and this is our portion size as per price on the menu. Absolutely disgusting response and attitude, what is he doing in an establishment offering hospitality??? I had a good mind to leave without consuming anything but was asked by my mum to stay calm and simply not return in the future. The taste of the food was mediocre, the service was non existent although the young boy was trying. The attitude of the manager was disgusting, rude and patronising. I 100% would NOT recommend visiting this establishment and f you are someone that...
Read moreI am absolutely outraged and disgusted by the treatment my friends and I received at this restaurant. We came in genuinely excited to try the matn soup for the first time and simply asked the staff if they had tried it themselves, just looking for a little advice. Instead of a helpful response, the order taker snapped at us with the rude, unprofessional comment: “Don’t play with me. If you want to eat, just eat; otherwise, get out.”
We were just hoping for a peaceful dinner after a long, tiring day, but instead, we were met with pure hostility.
We initially spoke in Hindi, thinking that the order taker, who appeared to be Indian, might understand. When he claimed he didn’t, we immediately switched to English. But instead of a simple interaction, this man escalated the situation and started arguing with us. We tried to remain polite, even apologizing by saying, “Sorry bro, if you don’t understand Hindi, sorry about that,” but he just kept shouting at us.
Things got even worse when he realized one of us is Pakistani. He became even more enraged and directly shouted at him. This is not just rude—it’s blatant racism. The way he treated us was completely disrespectful and degrading. We wanted to introduce our Pakistani co-worker to Indian food for the first time, but instead, this place made us feel humiliated and ashamed.
This experience left a bad taste in our mouths—not from the food, but from the utter lack of respect we were shown. Customer service is meant to make you feel welcomed, but here, we were treated like dirt. The way we were spoken to was disrespectful, unprofessional, and frankly disgusting.
I know the management will probably delete this review immediately, but I’m telling you the truth—this place is filled with racist, unprofessional staff who have no regard for their customers. I will NEVER be coming back, and I strongly advise others to stay far, far away from this restaurant. If you value your self-respect, don’t even think about...
Read moreI have officially fired every other indian takeaway/restaurant anywhere near me! The food here is amazing! Forget everything you know or knew about an Indian takeaway. This food at this place is off the chart!
The restaurant itself is small, lacking the softening effect of traditional decor and character and can "feel" a bit cold and hard, but it's clean, warm and functional. There are very few seats, i think i counted a 6 seater, 4 four seaters and a 2 seater table, my wife and I arrived early (about 6) and by the time we were nearing the end of our meal the place was at capacity with a group waiting outside for a table to become free.
If you're fussy about service (like i am) you may be a little disappointed when you first arrive, however, the staff are polite and receptive to a little tug in the right direction, but once I had my large bottle of Kingfisher beer in front of me I soon settled down and began to peruse the menu.
The menu was a mix of a few things i knew (samosas) and things i didn't (okra half gravy) to name a couple that we ordered, my wife and I mostly go veggie and there was plenty for the veggie and meat eater alike to order from this menu. The veg fried rice we had was delicious and non-greasy, the korma the wife had was fresh, delicious and nothing like what i've seen before from a "normal" curry house. The portions sizes were good and the prices too.
So to sum up... Restaurant lacks a little "character", the service needs work, but alllllll is forgivable for that food, i cannot wait to get down there and try something else off of that menu.
Also, a guy, i'm assuming is the owner is out on the floor too with his staff, he was friendly, polite, chatty, and seemed to have this little "knowing" smile on his face that the food is incredible and he is proud...
