Harvester – Comfort food shared with the people that you love Thank you for your hospitality when I visited your Salford Quays branch last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and menu The menu is simple, effective and is easy to read. On the left hand side you have a great selection of appetisers which cater for a variety of tastes. This consists of Garlic Bread, Prawns, Potato Skins, Calamari and many more. This is delivered in a tapas style in which you can share 3 or 4 starters together. There is a great mixture of mains from the grill, fish and chips, burgers, steak and vegetarian options with good sides that provide a great addition to any main. This includes fries, dirty fires, onion rings and sweet potato fries to name a few. Desserts cater for the sweet lovers and chocolate lovers from the indulgent Chocolate Fudge Cake to an offering of a mini dessert with a hot drink. There are also waffles and sundaes if you love cold puddings. All dishes have a great description giving you an insight of the dish and any sauces that come with it. In addition, one of the things about Harvester is that you can get a free salad from the bar and their soft drinks are refilled from the machine. For the starters the Crackerjack Prawns were delicious. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which melted in the mouth. It was lovely with the sweet chilli sauce. The Chicken Strips were tasty with a great flavour. The Calamari on the other hand were yummy and it was not chewy or overcooked. The Southern Fried Chicken Burger was tasty and moist. The bap was soft and the Chicken was crispy on the outside but lovely and soft in the mouth. The Barbecue sauce was a great addition to the burger which was nice and not dry. The sweet potato fries are always a great addition with any main and are so soft and moist. Dipping the fries into the mayonnaise is a great thing to do. The Chocolate Brownie is heaven, rich and indulgent. The Vanilla Ice Cream on the other hand cuts through the richness of the chocolate flavour which also provides a refreshing edge to the dessert. Service Jamie our waiter was friendly, pleasant and attentive. He gave us the time to choose our dishes from the menu and also provided great recommendations when we were stuck for ideas. The food came pretty quick and it was all presented to a great standard. Lighting The level of lighting at this restaurant is decent. We sat on a lovely big table with good lighting in which there is no trouble seeing the food that you eat. This made the experience worthwhile. If you have a sight problem then visiting Harvester is ideal if you like comfort food that is cooked very well. Parking You can park at the multi-storey car park for Quayside Media City UK (formerly the Lowry). You can also use your blue badge for disabled parking in which your ticket can be stamped giving you 4 hours free. This begins from the time of your arrival. Pricing The restaurant pricing is value for money. The cost of the food on the menu is reasonably priced.

AUG 2024 I visited the Media City Harvester with my parents; my dad and I enjoyed a £27 Groupon providing 2 courses for 2 people. I got a half chicken (which came with corn on the cob) and decided on mash as well as sweet chilli sauce to accompany it. The unlimited salad bar was included, too! I can’t get enough of that Red Devil Sauce. We also enjoyed a comforting syrup sponge pudding and left very full. Fran provided friendly service. -- My parents came to visit and so I booked us a table here, knowing that Meerkat Meals offers about 25% off the bill. I went for the Triple Combo: rotisserie chicken/southern fried chicken/Cajun chicken. This came with gravy and sweetcorn, and I swapped my regular fries for sweet potato ones. It was a satisfyingly filling meal. My Mam and Dad were happy with theirs, too. Service was friendly and pretty quick- we’d visited the Salad Bar before our mains arrived which was well stocked and fresh. Since it’s so close to The Lowry, I’d recommend booking a table rather than just rocking up, else you’ll be battling with the pre-theatre diners!

Summary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Been a Harvester fan since the late 90’s. Visited last night prior to my flight at Manchester Airport. In summary, nice restaurant, good food and a positive dining experience. Unfortunately, the brand has deteriorated over the years. Restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordered the; 3 x starter option for £13.00 (2 x Crackerjack pawns and 1 x mushrooms) 1 x Chicken Triple with chips 1 x 1983 Combo with chips The starters and main meals were excellent - not one complaint about these, unfortunately, let down by small factors. ✅ Clean, tidy and looks visually attractive ✅ Food cooked very well and really tasty ✅ Very quick waiting times for food and drink ❌ Blue cheese empty on the salad bar - asked several times and took 20 minutes to fill. One server working hard and the other watching TiKTok. ❌ Bread rolls were really stale 🟰 Food portions have become a lot smaller over the years - to me that is positive as I hate waste and can never eat the meals. Look around on the internet - I got a 40% of main meals by google downloading the harvester app!!! ✅✅✅

This is a lovely place to go for lunch if you’re shopping in the Lowry Outlet Mall. I was lucky enough to come here on a Monday lunch time so it was really easy to get a seat without booking. I had a lovely waitress called Ali who explained the salad bar and menu to us. She was very polite and helpful. I had ordered a refillable Cola as my drink and Ali was kind enough to flog and get the first drink for me. The salad bar is also available for as many refills as you like. There’s a good selection too (you don’t tend to find pineapple in many other places that offer complimentary salad, it’s a nice touch) the sauces are good too. As with all chain restaurants it is a good idea to check online for offers and download their app. We got about £10 off the cost of the meal with a voucher so definitely worth looking if you’re coming here. Harvester can get busy at weekends or if Manchester United is playing at home so do book through the app if you’re coming here on those days. Thanks for reading

Food came cold, my burger was cold, my chips were cold, the kids meals came after the adults meals which means the kids had to wait longer for their food which also came cold. The corn on the cobs were awfully small. Overall it was an awful experience i would not recommend. Asked the staff multiple times to give us our food because we could see it waiting in the side as they waited to give it to us l. Food wasted because of how cold it was/ poor sevice. The manager and staff workers/waitresses were kind and apologised for the quality of the food and service. However, it shouldn't be like that in the first place. The manager and waitress was lovely and understandable it was just the time/waiting for the food resulting in it being cold. The food itself was nice but it would of been even better if it wasn't cold. Also i orderd the big fries and the fries were the same as my mums who orderd the regular. The chicken wings were lovely and the onion rings.

Visited after a show at the Lowry. The menu has so much to choose from, so there is plenty for every palate! 😋 We started with the unlimited salad bar, can't go wrong to start you off, there is pasta, potato salad, Coleslaw, typical salads lettuce Cucumber Peppers etc, it was constantly being filled back up 👌🏼 For mains, I went for the Double Chicken Skewers with Naga Chilli glaze 🥵 it was so good, tasty and full of flavour, there are quite a few other sauces to choose from. My partner went for the Full rack of ribs (they do an even bigger 'Mega' ribs, but they were out of stock) the meat fell off the bone, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Elaine was our waitress, and I must say, what a fantastic lady she is, so very funny with outstanding customer service ⭐️ Thanks Elaine! We will definitely be visiting here again at some point in the future!
